Machining Head Series S8 Fork

The compact-sized Milling Head Series S8 fork version is designed for machining small-sized workpieces. Due to its space-saving dimensions, it is well-suited for milling tasks in restricted working environments or intricate workpieces.

Supply Connections: Includes motor current, measuring systems, cooling, and hydraulics for both swivel axes, as well as the motor spindle.

Media Transfer: Facilitated via a rotary union for seamless operation.

Position Monitoring: Features an incremental angular measuring system; an absolute angular measuring system is available as an option.

Torque Motors: High-performance torque motors serve as the drives, mirroring the design of the A-axis.

Hydraulically Operated Clamping Bush: Ensures secure and precise clamping.

Bearing Design: Utilizes radial and axial bearings for high stability and precision.

A-Axis (A-Achse)

Equipped with high-power torque motors offering direct drives and integrated cooling.

Rotor: Features a crossed roller bearing for enhanced durability and precision.

Clamping Bush: Hydraulically operated for reliable positioning.

Swivel Housing with Motor Spindle: Compact design with a built-in motor spindle.

Tool Clamping System: Automatic tool clamping system for efficient operation.

Cooling Options: Supports tool cooling with various configurations.

Measuring Systems

A-Axis: Uses an absolute value measuring system for precise positioning, with the hollow shaft connected directly to the centering of the A-axis swivel housing.

C-Axis: Utilizes a space-saving incremental measuring system with high resolution, including a thin 0.35 mm measuring tape ring and inductive scanning head. An absolute measuring system is also available as an option, offering a positioning accuracy of ±2 µm.

Optional Features

Integrated Suction Unit: Ideal for machining materials like glass fiber-reinforced plastics (GFRP).

Manual Tool Clamping System: Provides a cost-effective alternative for certain use cases.

Tool Interface Options: Available in HSK 50 or HSK 63 configurations.
