Delta surface grinding machine

DELTA Plane surfaces grinders MOD. LF350

First of all, wash the protective grease away using some petroleum, then lubricate the whole apparatus, particularly where it is equipped with oil feeders. After having connected the machine to the electricity, put it in gear by acting on the expressly made switch and check that the grinding wheel pivots towards the indicated direction.

To effectuate quick approaching feed, use the handwheel, while micrometric approaching feed, allowing a reading of 0.01 mm, is obtained by inserting the cog on the same handwheel. Disengage the cog during quick feed.

If the micrometric feed sensitivity decreases, adjust the screws that loosen or tighten the motor carrying plate to the column for the models LA 300, LB 300, LF 350, LC 400, LC 500, and LP 500/200. You can achieve a smooth sliding movement during wheel handling by doing this. Furthermore, if you notice a strong deflection in the column position during the machine’s operation, adjust the ferrule for the LA 300, LB 300 model (indicated with the number 4) and for LF 350, LC 400, LC 500, and LP 500/200 models (indicated with 11) just to take up slack, being careful not to stop the column rotation. If there is significant slack between the worm and the worm wheel working for the vertical micrometric feed, loosen the screw stopping the carrying worm cambush; turn it around until the existing slack is taken up, and then tighten the locking screw again.

To ensure the highest efficiency of the machine, choose the right grinding wheel type according to the kind of material you need to work. Generally, for cast-iron materials, use silicon carbide grinding wheels, while for steel materials, use white corundum grinding wheels. High efficiency can be obtained with resinous bond grinding wheels.

To choose the right grinding wheel's grain hardness, do not forget the finishing and the hardness of the material to be worked; for this purpose, we suggest using soft grinding wheels for hard materials and vice versa. In any case, it is advisable to contact the manufacturers of wheels for advice on the best choice.

Keep the grinding wheel always slanted towards the inside to avoid heating the material being worked. This can be achieved better with the optional L 21 Semi-automatic sharpener, supplied on request.

Monolithic cast iron of the best quality, robust and well-reinforced in areas subject to greater solicitation, provides the maximum rigidity for the wheelhead.

Built with a dynamically balanced 3-phase motor, featuring a large diameter spindle rotating on special adjustable bearings for high speeds. Proper orientation registers ensure absolute perpendicularity of the wheelhead with the table plane.

Of large dimensions, assembled on the proper arm by means of largely dimensioned adjustable bearings, which allow the greatest rigidity against flexion.

Achieved via a graduated handwheel operating on a couple of helical gears, permitting a feed of 2 mm per revolution.

Controlled by a small knob on the drum of the handwheel, which can be engaged or disengaged, allowing direct readings of 0.01 mm.

Includes electrical equipment and motor. Electropump and complete cooling system. The wheelhead is equipped with a cup wheel; alternatively, the segment holder with abrasive segments can be supplied. A diamond holder is provided without a diamond. Includes a protection cover, instruction manual, and a set of service tools.

Permanent magnetic chucks, spare wheel holders, segment holders, apparatus for balancing the wheel, cup wheels, and abrasive segments.
