PERFECT DESIGN AND EFFICIENT PRODUCTION
Necking-in has its seeds in spinning technology. Leifeld has pioneered in systematically advancing and perfecting necking-in with a swinging  warm working, simple program adaptation provides flexible contour guidance of the working roller. This allows variable cylinder shapes tailored to specific customer needs.
Preforms for necking-in are heated to warm-working temperature using induction equipment outside the necking in machine. An automatic charging device feeds the heated preform to the work spindle and clamps it with a jaw chuck. The working rolter on
the swinging rest works the ends of the rotatíng workpiece to a gastight cylinder bottom or a bottleneck. During warm working, temperature losses in the deformation zone are compensated by a torch. The inclined design of the bed not only provides better stability than a flat bed but also prevents scaling from having
A high-performance necking-in machine is custom-programmed to your demands and integrated into the production line according to your manufaction ring standards. For this, the machine is equipped with a charging and removal device. Additionally, preforms can be łed to the machine with an optional auto- matic feeding portal.
A standard Leifeld necking-in machine includes a Siemens CNC-control.

The bottom cutting torch is used forgastight sealing of steel tube ends. When
forming the bottom contour, the pole contains slack inclusions. By cutting them
