Maho MH 600 Universal toolroom milling and boring machine

Maho MH 600 Universal toolroom milling and boring machine ge of universal toolroom milling and boring machines, comprising the long-established MAHO MH 800, MH 900, and MH 1000 machines. In this development, full advantage has been taken of the extensive experience gained with the larger models whose well-tried features have largely been retained. Thus, all MAHO machines are characterized by the same massive construction, high cutting capacity, first-class accuracy, quick setup, and maximum operating convenience.

Like the other models, the new MAHO MH 600 machine will find its application primarily in the manufacture of metal cutting and forming tools, jigs, fixtures, and prototype work. It will be used very profitably for production in the precision instrument and similar industries. Whatever the application, the users will benefit from the great advantage of all MAHO machines, i.e., the formation by the machine and its attachments, such as the vertical milling head and universal work table, of a single, compact unit, which alone has made possible the high degree of static and dynamic stiffness of these machines. As a result, the high accuracy of machines is maintained even in the machining of relatively heavy workpieces.

Noteworthy features of model MH 600:
- Sturdy, box-section, vibration-free construction of column, ram, and universal work table.
- Work table has a large clamping area and long traverse distances.
- Work table takes heavy loads and is easily inclined due to all movements carried out by spindles in ball bearings.
- The universal table incorporates a rotary table, eliminating the need for a separate rotary table and increasing table load and spindle clearance.
- Lead screws are hardened and ground, ensuring durability and precision.
- Ample dimensioned graduated scales in conjunction with ground lead screws and scraped slides guarantee high manufacturing accuracy.
- Quick and easy change-over from horizontal to vertical milling and vice versa, with change-over in less than a minute.
- A component can be machined from 5 sides without re-clamping, improving efficiency and accuracy.
- High concentricity and axial accuracy of all milling spindles.
- Optimum economy in speed and feed selection due to constant maintenance of accuracy and a long service life with exceptional metal removing capacity.
- Well-placed layout of all control elements for convenient operation.
- Convenient height of all works and control elements.
- Various attachments such as slotting head, high-speed milling spindle, angular milling head, dividing head, punch milling attachment, spiral milling attachment, and plan spiral milling attachment enable a wide range of work to be carried out.

The universal work table is based on the design of large models and is characterized by the same rigidity. The table can be rotated 360° and tilted ± 30° in two planes, enabling the operator to set the workpiece accurately at any required angle. The universal table enables machining of components on 5 sides without re-clamping and can handle heavy loads without the need for a separate rigid table.

The vertical milling head can be easily swung out and pushed back away from the tooling area along the left-hand side of the ram, allowing for easy manipulation while being massively constructed for heavy-duty cutting.

A central lubrication system ensures consistent and reliable lubrication of all moving parts, while the coolant supply is designed to provide sufficient and accurately positioned coolant in any working position.

Various attachments such as a high-speed quill, angular milling head, slotting head, dividing head, punch milling attachment, spiral milling attachment, and plan spiral milling attachment are available for the MH 600, enabling a wide range of machining operations to be performed. These attachments can also be used on other MAHO milling and die sinking machines, such as the MH 700, 800, 1000, and 1100 models.
