The DS1200/450C machining center combines the advantages offered by stationary-part machining with those of rotating-part machíning.
The DS1200/450C machining center features two machining systems:
The 1200mm díameter U-axis contour-head has three tool pocket positions on the 450mm travel u-axis slide, suited for small to large diameter turning operations, using the same tool. It can also perform virtually any type of turning operation spherical or tapered turníng, as we11 as boring, back facing, and single point thread-cutting using standard boring or threading tools.
The high speed spindle, located below the contour-head, is used for milling,
drilling, tapping, and other machining center operations. For high speed boring and turning applications the hìgh speed milling spindle incorporates a CNC controlled differential system, for programming too1 changeable contour-heads.
During turning operations the tool works just as a lathe, utilizing constant surface speed to obtain optimum too1 life and meta1 removal. The U-axis contour head is locked in place anytime the milling spindle is in use.

This ruggedly constructed machine is designed to include an exceIIent chip disposal system and a fully enclosed guard system.
All ínternal components of the spíndle head are contínuously Iubrícated
wíth a monitored progressíve lubrícatíon system.
The base frame is a stabilized steel spíndle head is made of Mee-
hanite cast iron. All axes aгe equípped with heavy duty linear bearing slides, and
are driven by large ball screws with high performance servo motors.
Thìs machining center is equipped with 2400mm x 2400mm pallets. Mounted and clamped to a fully programmable continuous rotary table, with servo motor drive, and a high precision angle encoder.
The machine can be equipped with a 280 mm diameter RAM with 700 mm
stroke. The machine can be equipped with a programmable tilt table up to 10
degrees suited for machining of wind power hub eomponents.
The tools are mounted on a tool holder base type TG2000 desígned and pa-
tented by Trevísan Macchíne Utensíli This tool holder provides maxi-
mum rígidity, since the tool clamps on a wide support surface during work, whích allows heavy metal removal operations, while ensuring maximum tool stability.
The DS1200/450C machining center is equipped with a 40 position tool-changer unit fitted with a 2-gripper manipulator.
