The Mazak INTEGREX 400-III S is a fairly heavy multi-tasking CNC turning/milling centre. In practical terms, it combines a CNC lathe, a 5-axis milling machine and a second spindle in one machine, allowing complex parts to be machined almost completely in one setup.
What does the “S” mean?
The important part is the S = second/sub spindle. So you have:
Main spindle → B-axis milling head → Y-axis → sub-spindle
This means you can turn and mill the front of a component, transfer it automatically to the sub-spindle, and then machine the back side. That's what makes this a true complete-machining / done-in-one machine.
The 400-III S primarily works with the B-axis milling head and the two spindles.
For the type of machines you normally evaluate, I'd classify the 400-III S as a serious, relatively high-spec Integrex of its generation. It was aimed at complex shafts, aerospace/energy components, hydraulic parts, general high-value subcontract work, etc.
