With Demag Standard Cranes, the standard is high
For the very best in performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency, Demag cranes set the benchmark. Designed according to the modular construction kit principle, our standard cranes can be ideally adapted to various requirements. It is important, therefore, that we collaborate with you in the design of your crane in terms of both basic design and in their detailed engineering. With our new compact bottom block, for example, we have been able to raise the position of the hook and so extend the top hook position for more lifting height.

Advanced Technology
By ensuring continual improvement, we are able to keep our standard cranes right at the cutting edge of material handling technology. Our cranes are designed to meet even the most complex requirements.

Tandem Operation
Where heavy components have to be transported, the 63 t and 40 t cranes can join forces to perform the task. Once hitched for tandem operation, they are jointly operated from a radio remote control position.

Whatever your problem, whether it involves large or small, heavy or light loads, with a Demag standard crane, you can handle it.

Demag DV5 Mobile Control Unit
With its integrated busbar system, the Demag DVS mobile control system not only supplies the power to the crab and hoist but also transmits the control signals and data. The benefits to you:

Exceptional ease of operation

More space

Ease of pendant control movement

The ability to take up a new position away from the crab

Demag D5E Control Pendant
As the successor to the long-proven D5T pendant control, the new D5E offers a number of useful advancements. Its design has been improved in accordance with the latest ergonomic research, making usage even more fatigue-free. It is suitable for one-handed operation, and it is also even more maintenance-friendly. Among other things, the switch elements can be simply changed without the need for tools.

Around-the-clock Availability
With just-in-time delivery a must, companies simply cannot afford any downtime. Demag standard cranes, designed, built, and supplied by Demag Cranes Components, support production during all three shifts of the 24-hour working day.

Single-girder OTCs with Rolled I-beam Bridge
Our single-girder overhead travelling cranes with the crab running on a universal beam provide you with Demag technology at a particularly affordable price. The use of rolled universal steel bridge beams and chain hoist crabs makes these the optimal solution for light to moderate loads and relatively small spans.

Advantages and Features

Rolled steel I-beam as the main girder

Crane end carriages of torsionally rigid, welded box girder construction

Travel wheels of highly wear-resistant material

Demag Standard Cranes – Technical Overview and Features

1. Chain Hoist Crab with Standard or Low-Headroom Design

Material Composition: The chain hoist crab is made from GGG 70 spheroidal cast iron which ensures durability and strength.

Design: It is available in both standard design and low-headroom configurations, offering particular advantages in reduced headroom, allowing for efficient space utilization.

Power Supply: The crab is powered via a high-flexibility flat cable, which provides reliable and adaptable power transmission.

Control Options: The pendant control can be fixed to the crab or separately mounted, enabling independent traversing along the main girder for operational flexibility.

Corrosion Protection: The crane is protected with a resin-based corrosion protection system, with the structural steel components finished in Safety Yellow (RAL 1004) and the crab and travel drives finished in Azure Blue (RAL 5009).

2. Options Available

Travel Limit Switches: Available for both long and cross travel to reduce speed at the end of the travel paths.

Operational Monitoring: Optional operating hour counters or cumulative load spectrum recorders (for SWL above 1) for monitoring usage.

Bypass Control and Additional Coatings: Options for bypass control and alternative surface finishes or coatings are available for enhanced durability.

3. Technical Specifications

Safe Working Load (SWL): Up to 5 t

Span: Up to 15 m

Travel Speed:

Long travel speed: 10/40 m/min

Cross travel speed: Variable

Hoist speed: Up to 16 m/min

Single-Girder OTCs with Box Girder Design
Design Characteristics:

The single-girder overhead travelling cranes (OTCs) with a box girder design are engineered for high lifting capacities with minimal deadweight, owing to the computer-optimised box bridge section.

These cranes reduce the load on the runway structure, thereby minimizing the cost of the building's structural design.

The end carriages are made from torsionally rigid, welded box girder construction, offering high stability and durability.

Power Supply and Control:

Power is transmitted to the crab through a shock-hazard-protected compact busbar or high-flexibility flat cable, providing reliable power delivery.

Pendant control can be separately mounted on the main girder, allowing independent mobility.

Corrosion Protection:

Resin-based corrosion protection with Safety Yellow for the structural components and Azure Blue for the crab and travel drives.

Technical Specifications

SWL: Up to 10 t

Span: Up to 24 m

Travel Speed:

Long travel speed: Up to 50 m/min

Cross travel speed: Up to 40 m/min

Hoist speed: Up to 16 m/min

5. Single-Girder OTCs with Cantilever Crab
Design Characteristics:

The cantilever crab configuration allows for the hoist unit to be laterally offset from the main girder, reducing overall height requirements by up to 50%. This configuration is particularly beneficial in situations where height restrictions apply.

The reduced headroom requirement leads to significant savings in construction and operational costs, as well as lower heating costs for buildings due to reduced volumes.

Advantages:

Optimized Structure: The cantilever crab reduces the building height, saving on both construction outlay and ongoing operational costs.

The crane's dimensions are adaptable to various building configurations and requirements.

Technical Specifications

SWL: Up to 10 t

Span: Up to 35 m

Travel Speed:

Long travel speed: Up to 50 m/min

Cross travel speed: Up to 40 m/min

Headroom Requirements:

Standard Crab: 100 mm

Low-Headroom Crab: 72 mm

Cantilever Crab: 50 mm

6. Double-Girder OTCs
Design and Benefits:

Demag double-girder OTCs are designed for high load capacities and wide spans, providing a superior load/deadweight ratio.

These cranes offer excellent crane geometry that results in exceptionally favorable travel characteristics.

Lifting Height: The design allows for generous lifting height due to the position of the hook, which can be raised between the girders.

Operational Features:

The crane can be equipped with a maintenance platform and operator cabin for improved access and operational control.

Designed to accommodate various building dimensions, the bridge girder designs can be adjusted to fit specific structural requirements.

Demag Crane Systems: Additional Features, Modernization, and Service

Smooth Start Control and Explosion-Proof Cranes

Key Features:

Smooth Start Control: Cranes equipped with variable-speed motors and frequency inverters help to reduce load sway during lifting and handling operations. This feature ensures that even less experienced operators can handle the load accurately, minimizing the risk of mistakes and improving efficiency.

Explosion-Proof Cranes: For environments where the load cannot be seen by the crane operator (e.g., hazardous environments), Demag offers explosion-proof cranes equipped with appropriate safety measures to handle operations in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Load Protection:

Load Sway Avoidance: The frequency inverter technology also reduces load sway, providing smoother operations and safer handling of loads.

Load Detection: Digital load displays help prevent overload during operations, particularly useful when loading trucks or in tight spaces.

Slack-Rope Detectors: These devices ensure that the hoist and load are reliably protected from damage during operation.

Anti-Collision and Bypass Control:

Anti-Collision Protection: Prevents crane collisions and protects the load from obstruction when there are obstacles in the path. This is especially important when multiple cranes operate on the same runway.

Bypass Control Option: Ensures smooth operation by automatically avoiding collisions or accidents when there are obstacles in the load path.

Crane Attachments and Special Features
