Wherever long components are to be machined and the workpiece is to be mounted on the work table, the new traveling-column machining center of the DMF linear series made by DECKEL MAHO offers a perfect symbiosis of impressive metal-removal rates, high productivity and accuracy, and an excellent price/performance level.  

A unique feature of this new development is the linear drive in the X axis, which permits high column traversing speeds of 100 m/min. This is an increase of up to a factor of 3 as compared with conventional machines. In addition to this, the linear drive offers extremely precise and wear-free positioning for years ahead.  

The tool magazine accommodates 30 tools. A 100-tool rack-type magazine, from which the tools are retrieved during actual machining time by a linear-drive shuttle system, is available as an option.  

The DMF linear series is also available with an optional partition wall for pendulum machining, with both machine and working area being fully enclosed. Thus the new traveling column centers fit right in with the innovative image of the Gildemeister group.  

The DMF linear series is available with the Siemens 840 D control, which teams up perfectly with the digital drives in the Y and Z axes and the linear drive, and this control allows, of course, connection to the DMG Netservice.  

The DMF series features a convincing and pioneering control concept. The SINUMERIK 840 D control, complete with ShopMill, is a user-friendly programming interface that is based on the milling and drilling technology.
