The Taílstock

The motor unit is controlled by low-tension push buttons. All electrical equipment is manufactured according to international standards.

- Faceplate: Self-centering
- Fixed rest
- Mobile rest
- Dead centers
- Taper spindle reducing bush
- Set screw wrenches
- Motor-driven pump and coolant system
- Safety screen: Plexiglass
- Instruction manual
- Levers and handwheels: Matt chromium plated

- Headstock, Bench, Carriage, Apron: Cast iron, G25/G30, UN1 5007 with pearlitic structure; bench guides are induction tempered.

The spindle is made from Ni-Cr case-hardened, tempered, and ground steel. It is supported by precision tapered roller bearings (TIMKEN - SKF) with a CAM-LOCK spindle connection. Rotation and reverse running are achieved through a dedicated clutch, while stopping is managed by an electromagnetic brake.

The Norton gearbox is completely enclosed and operates in an oil bath. Gears and shafts are made from high-strength steel. It provides threads in metric, Whitworth, modular, diametral pitch, and English systems, along with all types of feed advancements.

- Handwheel: Equipped with a large vernier scale for direct read-out of movement.
- Construction: The headstock is a single, ribbed casting designed to be rigid and vibration-proof, even under demanding conditions. It houses the gearbox, allowing for 16 spindle speeds in geometric progression. All gears and shafts are made from Ni-Cr-Mo case-hardened steel. Lubrication is provided by a dedicated pump.

- Safety Screen: Plexiglass
- Maintenance: Designed for minimal maintenance, the equipment features robust, high-quality components ensuring long-term reliability.

Spindle

The spindle is made from a single, carefully ribbed casting to ensure rigidity and absence of vibrations, even under demanding working conditions. It houses the gearbox, which allows for 16 spindle speeds in geometric progression. All gears and splined shafts are made from case-hardened, tempered, and ground steel. Lubrication is provided by a dedicated pump. Rotation and reverse motion are achieved through a special clutch, while stopping is managed by an electromagnetic brake.

Carriage and Slides

The carriage is well-sized, and the contact surfaces ensure stability under operational stress. The lead screws are mounted on thrust bearings, while the nuts are made of special bronze. The traverse carriage screw is adjustable to allow progressive take-up of slack. All carriages are adjustable on their guide rails; furthermore, the adjustment of the traverse carriage and toolholder is guaranteed by a conical gib. T-slots allow the attachment of additional accessories. Large vernier scales enable easy read-out and make full use of the machine's versatility and precision. Lubrication is guaranteed by a manual pump.

Apron

The apron is made from a single block and houses all controls for longitudinal and traverse feed as well as the threading device. A safety device prevents simultaneous engagement of the feed and threading mechanisms. Large vernier scales enable easy read-out of feed values, and lubrication is ensured by an oil bath.

Headstock

The headstock is made from a single, carefully ribbed casting, providing rigidity and resistance to vibrations even under demanding conditions. It contains the gearbox, which allows for 16 spindle speeds in geometric progression. All gears and splined shafts are made from case-hardened, tempered, and ground steel. Lubrication is provided by a dedicated pump. Rotation and reverse motion are achieved through a special clutch, while stopping is managed by an electromagnetic brake.

Gearbox

The Norton gearbox is completely enclosed and operates in an oil bath. Gears and shafts are made from high-strength steel. It provides threads in metric, Whitworth, modular, diametral pitch, and English systems, along with all types of feed advancements.

Construction Materials

The headstock, bench, carriage, and apron are cast in G25/G30 cast iron (UN1 5007) with a pearlitic structure. The bench guides are induction-tempered.
