Finn-power e press brakes

E SERIES PRESS BRAKES SERVO ELECTRIC BENDING TECHNOLOGY BY FINN-POWER The FINN-POWER E series press brake is a fast, accurate, non-hydraulic bending solution. By applying mechanics and electronics, a unique, patented, mechatronic drive was developed. This drive is based on the pulley principle resulting in a very even distribution of forces on the top beam, high accuracy, and increased productivity with decreased energy consumption. The frame concept makes it possible to utilize the back gauge system across the entire working length. A special high-speed version, type 1-15, is available in addition to the standard FINN-POWER E press brake.

Pulley drive with two servo motors Equal force transmission Anti-deflection 5-year warranty By using the pulley principle, a system with fixed and moving rolls, spread out over the total working length of the upper beam with a belt not toothed, a highly equal force transmission is achieved. By applying servo-motors and regulators, an extremely simple and secure construction is obtained. The absence of oil and low energy use are other advantages. For the user, it is particularly interesting that very fast cycle times are achieved because there are no waiting or switching times when accelerating or decelerating.

Stable E-Brake frame Ergonomics: support arms for workpieces For heavy-duty sheet metal work, a series of multi-purpose support units has been developed. They are all fitted with brushes to eliminate scratches onto components. Thanks to the modular design, there is a support arm for every situation: Movable arms across machine width Height adjustable Fitted with brushes / hardened strip Fitted with fine adjustment stop location stops Suitable for use with safety light guard CNC-controlled front supports for heavy parts as well as for large workpieces of thin material Right: Optional aluminum front supports with horizontal movement, height adjustment with hand wheel. Optional aluminum front support, horizontally adjustable on linear guides. Left: Basic aluminum front supports. E-Mate Positioning big parts is often difficult, and wrong timing in supporting the part during bending causes angle deviations. With the help of FINN-POWER E-Mate software Control window, these bending applications can easily be mastered by any operator. A second operator is no more needed.

Angle measurement: Built-in quality Outstanding precision is one of the most characteristic features of the FINN-POWER Press Brakes. However, variations in sheet metal material can negatively affect the workpiece quality. With real-time angle measurement systems of FINN-POWER, a constant production quality can be reached even under circumstances where material thickness and microstructure have large tolerances. Two different solutions are available, E-Bend L and E-Bend M. E-Bend L is based on a system using laser beams. Two sensors are equipped with magnets and are placed in pairs on the back and front of the standard bottom tool. E-Bend L assures constant quality in terms of angle tolerances. It does not measure the angle in degrees, but it always keeps the next part's angles equal to those of the previous, independently of differences in sheet thickness and rolling directions. E-Bend M is a first-part-correct angle measurement system. It can be used like E-Bend L for assuring constant quality as well as satisfying high precision needs in single-piece production. E-Bend M consists of two pneumatic sensors on a rail that can be programmed on any position over the bending length. Both sensors are in contact with the material during the bending cycle. Before the final angle is bent, the spring back of the sheet is measured. This measurement is used to make a calculation to reach the correct angle with the final bend.

With a quick-change tooling system FINN-POWER E brakes are equipped with a mechanical upper tool clamping system which features several advantages: Quick fastening with patented safety click system Interchangeable high precision tools Tools can be installed in any position of the beam regardless of tool width no shimming Fastening mechanism both centralizes and straightens the tools automatically Horizontal reverse is possible because the adaptation is symmetrical to the center line Hydraulic clamping system as an option Other tooling systems available on request.

State-of-the-art control and programming FINN-POWER E press brake features a touch screen control unit. The solution improves operation and control is direct and prompt. Network connection is a standard accessory 100 MB Ethernet UTP to be used for program storing, backups, etc. The instructions from the touch screen are sent to a central processor, which in turn activates the axes by means of a CAN-BUS Control Area Network. An advantage of the CAN-BUS system is that the electronics are based on a modular construction and that it requires fewer components. This results in a high degree of compatibility and reliability. Material database The control contains a database not only for the product and the tools but also for tested material bend characteristics, which are stored for future use. This reduces programming time considerably and ensures extremely accurate bending results.

TS1 control TS1 is a numerical control that aims to achieve maximum simplicity, meeting the operator's needs. Using a PC with a Touch Screen monitor results in a user-friendly press brake control. Programming involves touching the chosen field on the screen and adding the required data. This fast data input method significantly shortens programming time.

TS2 control In addition to TS1 functions, TS2 control allows visualizing bending sequences graphically of programs made with off-line programming SW V-Bend.

Virtual bend sequence and TS3 control Bend simulation software Vbend The TS3 control includes all possibilities of the TS2 control. However, 20/30 simulation software is now integrated into the TS control, along with the keyboard. This allows establishing the bending order graphically at the press brake. During production, a choice can be made between graphical and numerical descriptions of the bending process.

Innovative back gauge solution Due to 0-frame construction, the back gauge system can be used effectively over the whole bending back gauge system. The back gauge system consists of a sturdy beam controlled by a servomotor and attached to the machine frame by means of an extremely rigid support. The back gauge beam moves in the X-direction at high speed, and it is highly accurate due to the application of play-free straight guides and a digital linear measuring system.

Integrated safety In accordance with the CE standards, the standard press brake has a maximum closing speed of 10 mm/s when unguarded. The machine has been equipped with active safety features enabling high closing speeds. Increased productivity is reached with E brake by using programmable bending speed, adjustable between mm/s. The safety system of F1NN-POWER E brakes is integrated into the control. By means of the touch screen control, the operator determines the procedure per bending step.

Maximum productivity The E brake is further optimized to take maximum advantage of the high acceleration and other favorable servo-motor characteristics. For this reason, E brake is not only very fast in the rapid approach stage but also throughout the entire cycle. As a comparison, the product was also produced on a conventional press brake, E brake 20 s, and conventional 28 s.

E brake for energy savings, ecology, and total economy Furthermore, the E brake uses much less energy, namely only when the beam actually moves. This can result in energy savings of 50% compared to conventional hydraulic press brakes. There is also no need to adjust the settings of pressure relief valves - with the inherent risk of mistakes and drift - nor are there filters to be checked and replaced. The absence of oil, tanks, pumps, seals, valves, and filters means that the servo-electronic system is much more reliable than a hydraulic one. And you will never again have to face the inconvenience of a cold start.

Finn-Power E-series press brake energy consumption at 10 mm/s bending speed On the E brake, the main drive motor is used when the brake has to perform a movement. With a conventional hydraulic press brake, the hydraulic pump motor is running all the time. The graph adjoining only covers the time when the press brake is actually in operation. During the standby time - which can be as much as 90% on account of sheet handling, conversion, and intervals - this means a further saving of no less than 3000 kWh a year.
