The introduction of AUTOMATION is always increasing in the machine tool industry. Where previously the manually operated honing machines had the stroke control operated manually, today an automatic horizontal machine has a mechanically operated stroke, making the honing cycle independent of the operator. In addition to our simple manual honing machine H 75, without a stroke device, which remains in our program and is suitable for small batches of components and reworking, we now offer our newly developed H 150 with elements on this horizontal honing machine, which have been proved already on our automatic honing machines. In this way, an efficient, universally applicable, particularly easy to operate, horizontal honing machine was created.

Honing with an automatic stroke
The tiring and fatiguing manual pulling, especially when large diameters are involved, is no longer necessary. The operator is therefore unburdened, and multi-machine manning is possible. The machine operation is also independent of the operator's skill, as he only has to carry out loading and unloading. The automatic stroke device with up to 375 double strokes per minute guarantees short honing time and with it high steady output with constant narrow tolerances. When using one of the control devices available, the machine will automatically switch off after the finishing tolerance is achieved or after the honing time has elapsed. The horizontal honing machine H 150 with automatic stroke and control device combines the advantages of a simple manual honing machine with those of an automatic machine. Therefore, substantially less capital expenditure is required for the machine and fixture as opposed to that required for a vertical automatic machine.

Work Sequence
The operator places the component in the clamping fixture and pushes the stroke beam to the extended stroke of 100 mm towards the work spindle until it engages. After pressing the start button, the automatic cycle begins with the values preset of:
- Stroke length and stroke speed
- Spindle speed
- Feed pressure
until the control devices - or the operator using a press button - switches off the machine.

For universal operation of this horizontal honing machine, it is recommended that a feed lever for the honing tool feed be inserted, which is combined with a stop with graduated ring. This stop can, at extra cost, be equipped with a technical sizing timer which shows the metal removal process. When working manually, i.e., with the stroke beam swiveled away, a foot pedal is sensible for switching on and off. At extra cost, the following control devices can be incorporated:
