General Features:

The GS-400 series is built to withstand years of rigorous production turning. The heavily ribbed, thermally balanced low center of gravity bed and casting parts are made from Meehanite casting. The 45-degree true slant bed design further provides superior support for the headstock, turret, and tailstock, creating the rigidity needed for super heavy turning and long-term high precision accuracy.

The massive precision spindle housing accommodates high-precision double roller and angular bearing assemblies positioned for optimal support distances, resulting in increased heavy turning performance and a higher level of accuracy. The high-speed servo indexing provides the massive 12-station turret with a secondary indexing time of 1 second per station and 1 second for 180-degree indexing. Large diameter high-precision couplings and hydraulic clamping enhance tool indexing accuracy and turret head rigidity.
