Cut-to-length line with flying shears Cut-to-length line with drum shears Drum shears for cuts in continuous operation Suitable for material thicknesses of up to 20 mm Compact, space-saving model Decoilers with up to 40 t decoiling force The technical equipment can comprise the following functions: Synchronous actuation with the levelling machine Constant retaining pull Strip rewinding mechanism Transverse mechanism for coil transfer Strip edge or centre control for right-angled strip feed to leveller and shears Winding devices for interleaving paper with sensitive strip surfaces Automatic retensioning for diminishing coils with reduction of tensioning force The coils are placed centrally Automatic coil tensioning during longer machine down-times on the coil car using factory crane or lift truck. Loading inaccuracies can be evened out using the strip edge control. The movable coil conveyor system with up to five loading spaces facilitates economical coil storage during the production process. Strips with sensitive surfaces are delivered with interleaving paper. Cut-to-length lines Infeed devices Simple leading-in process The strip infeed devices can be operated simply from the operating panel. As soon as the strip take-off identifies the beginning of the strip the pressure rollers, the holding-down roller, and the inlet table pivot back into their initial positions. Hydraulically pivoting counter support with 2 guide rollers The hydraulically pivoting counter support is applied to use if the strips used are so narrow that the pressure roller cannot be pressed between the normal counter supports onto the coil or if a fully automatic strip unit is required. The hydraulically pivoting counter support can also be shifted on its axis or positioned using a proximity switch. A counter support with 2 guide rollers may also be used as a rear coil unit. Infeed devices The strip edge control ensures the strip is fed into the levelling machine or shears with the edges positioned accurately and thus guarantees the geometric accuracy of the cut. The holding-down roller removes any curl in the coil at the beginning of the strip and thus aids the feeding of the band into the haul-off. The inlet table with its integrated infeed wedges acts as a support for the strip being fed in. Whilst doing so, the infeed wedges can be extended directly onto the coil in order to bridge the gap. The pressure roller prevents the coil from clock-springing when the retainer cords are released from the coil. Leveller Shorter set-up times As a rule, the leveller is fitted with 9 or 21 levelling rollers. The diameter and width of the rollers are determined by the material to be processed. The levelling aggregate consists of an upper and lower roller unit, both of which can be hydraulically extended for maintenance or cleaning work. The leveller can be fitted as required with a roller deflector. The height of all roller supports on the lower roller unit can then be adjusted individually. Thus warping in the middle and at the edges can be removed. The upper roller unit can be tipped to the side, thus aiding this process. Using the on-screen graphics, this process can be displayed, monitored, and controlled simply. This is made possible as all adjustable axes are fitted with incremental encoders. This technology furthermore allows settings to be stored once they have been established so that they can be quickly reproduced for repeat orders by entering a multidigit workpiece number. This makes it possible to shorten set-up times. Rear view featuring drive The haul-off removes the strip from the decoiler and transfers it to the leveller. The length measuring unit motor and gear unit. Each roller is driven individually by the common distribution gearbox. Cut-to-length lines Shears

Stationary shears. These hydraulically shears are used when operating in mode. The output is dependent on the thickness of the material. The special achieve very short cutting times. Flying shears. These hydraulically shears are used if the coil is to be cut in continuous operation mode. The linear movement of the shears is generated by pinion and toothed rack. A maintenance-free servo motor acts as the drive. The cutting rate of the shears is limited by the large inertia of masses in movement depending on the thickness of the material. The shears are suitable for materials of a thickness of up to mm. Oscillating shears. Oscillating shears are used for cutting or 8 rhombus-shaped blanks. The use of tools means it is also possible to make arched cuts. Stationary shears. Cropping shears. Cropping shears are used in order to process the end of the strip. Various different types of cropping shears can be used. Automatic cutting angle and stroke adjustment KOHLER shears are equipped with an automatic cutting angle and stroke adjustment mechanism so that they can be adapted to different strip thicknesses and widths. The die clearance can also be set automatically to the thickness of the strip to achieve a minimum level of burring. All adjustment options are transmitted to the central control unit and on screen. Once stored the data can be reproduced for repeat orders by a workpiece number. A prerequisite for shorter set-up times. Cut-to-length lines. Oscillating shears. Oscillating shears. These are shears for generating blanks using large numbers of strokes up to 120 strokes/min . Any cutting angle up to +/- 40 is possible.

Stacking sliding stacker. Sliding stackers are used if no demands are made of the material surface. Brush stacker. Brush stackers are used when high levels of output are not required. Scratch-free, multiple stacking is ensured. Vacuum stacker. Vacuum stackers are used in conjunction with high levels of output. Scratch-free, multiple stacking is ensured. The stacker is suitable for all qualities of material with which a vacuum can be formed. It can be used in both start/stop and mode. Magnetic stacker. Magnetic stackers are used for high levels of output. Scratch-free, multiple stacking is ensured. The stacker is suitable for all materials. It can be used in both start/stop and mode.

Transfer stacker. Transfer stackers are used at low levels. Both multiple stacking and stacking sideways on to the of the belt can be performed. Cut-to-length lines. Stacking. Brush stacker. The brush stacker is a moderately priced, low-maintenance and economical concept with a high level of automation and short set-up times. This stacking technique ensures scratch-free stacking with edges up with an accuracy of +/- mm. When stainless steel, contact surfaces are protected against corrosion.

Magnetic stacker. A programmable limit stop system allows up to 3 stacks per stacking space on magnetic stackers. The limit stop heads can be adjusted by motor and are equipped with a damping system for stacking blanks so that edges do not become damaged.

Cut-to-length lines. Unit details. Control and quality. Unit operation. Individual operating screens are assigned to the machine parts and can be selected via an easy-to-operate screen management system. Responses and machine activities are displayed following the prompts on the respective screen. Controller. The electrical controller is maintenance-free and housed in free-standing switch cabinets. All positioning modules are integrated into the programmable logic controller. This facilitates flexible system configuration and at the same time, central data storage interfaces. The electronic modules used are in line with international standards and are the branded products of manufacturers. The entire including the control technology is designed and assembled completely on KOHLER's premises. The software is created and maintained by our specialists.

Monitoring. The unit's production data number of pieces is displayed in a special screen in automatic mode. In the event of an error the unit is stopped. An integrated error diagnosis is used to display the errors in plain language.

Options. The following enhancements can be incorporated into the controller on request: Reporting printer for operational and error statuses. Production data recording and logging. Disc drive for data back-up. External memory expansion. Connection to master computer systems. Ink-jet system for coding blanks.

Quality assurance. In many areas of the metal plate processing industry the quality demands for plate cutting are increasing. This means that the machinery for sheet metal processing has to highest level of reliability, functionality and repeatability with regard to its specific machine characteristics. The capability index is internationally recognized as criteria for evaluation of this production process. It is the result of a statistical evaluation which defines the capability of a process to produce parts within predefined tolerances. A production result with a capability index of > is regarded as absolute- measure of the spread of individual measured values reliably. around the mean
