One of main application fields of Microtecnica
Profile Projectors has always been the tool checking.
Sínce the begínning (year 1940) the desígn prínciple of the Mícrotecnica profile projectors has been always characterised by following features particularly suitable for tool testíng:

— Horizontal projection system
— Vertical or nearly vertical projector screen
— Heavy duty worktab1e simílar to a slíde milling machine
Thanks to above mentioned peculíaritíes, most of cylindrical tools
can be accommodated
between centres or dividing
head whílst standard one cut
tools are placed on the table by
means of traditíonal support.

Besídes the tradítíonal checkíng wíth charts, specially useful for forming tools, Anteus, fitted wíth dígital readouts and data processor, can be converted ínto a true Bí-dimensional
Measuríng Machine allowing fast and reliable measurements of the piece with the possibility to data prínting to certify the performance testíng. Data processor can be coupled to an optical sensor (edge finder) for on fly profile acquiring avoídíng the subjective cross-hair collimation.
Anteus is fitted wíth a worktable of 650 x 150 mm with powered 300 mm horizontal, 200 mm vertícal and 50 mm focusing displacements. Tab1e group can rotate on the vertical axis by 15° to check helicoidally pieces.
Most tool features are checked by using the diascopíc projection viz. direct líght allowíng the profile testíng. Among the accessories it ís included the epíscopic (surface) projection useful for checking for example the cutting edge as well as front rake angles.
A further advantage of Anteus ís the possibílity
to convert it ínto a vertícal profile projector usefu1 for checking hard metal ínsert to be placed directly on the glass support on the table.
The specíal Uersion Anteus-B-U/T for tool checking, is offered complete with the Divídíng Head for tools clamping, spindle, three jaw chuck and
dead centre. The dividing head is particularly advisable for checking rotary tools with front rakes.
