LTF is proud to launch onto the international market the new versíon of the well established CYCLOP-1, íntegrating the most advanced technology used in the field of optical comparators.
CYCLOP-1 belongs to the prestige class of optícal comparators available in the ínternatíonal market and will reinforce the leadíng posítíon that MICROTECNICA always had in the field of large síze comparators.
As a matter of fact ín 1954, MICROTECNICA became the first manufacturer in the world to produce a projector with 1000 mm diameter screen.
Today Users spread all over the world, operating ín different fields of production, but havíng common requirements of high quality, represent the best guarantee for prospective new customers.
The CYCLOP-1 retains all the main features of prevíous versíons such as screen síze (1000 mm/40" dia.) and the exceptionally large worktable (800 x 200 mm/31.5 x 7.87) positíoned at the síde of, and at an angle to the screen. This ergonomic design, another MICROTECNICA first, makes checkíng extremely convenient, reduces operator fatígue and the possíbility of human error.

MEASURING SYSTEMS
The Cyciop-1 besídes allowing comparison checks usíng master charts, it can be converted into a TlNO-COORDINATE MEASURING
MACHINE by means of digital readout systems combined with either Data Processor or Personal Computer, the latter fitted wilh measuring software ín Windows environment. lt allows both automatíc pіece alignement of part under testing, and geometrical constructíons.
Data acquisítion can be carried out through an edge fínder which reduces human error, іп relation to the cross hair collίmation, with consequent tíme-savíng, better accuracy and high efficíency.
Angular measurements are performed by means of projection screan rotation combined with an encoder and digital readout.

MANUFACTURlNG FEATURES
WORKTABLE SET is mounted on a sturdy vertical slide, similar to a milling machine, wíth preloaded roller ways allowίng high accuracy even when checking heavy parts, weíghíng 150/200 kgs (330/440 1bs).
POWERED horízontal and vertícal dísplacements are carried out by means of recírculating ballscrews combined wíth DC motors having continuous speedadjustment.
CNC The tab/e displacements can be combined with a Computer Numerícal Control for the automatíc checking of components.
The CNC is provided wíth "teach-in" facility which allows to memorίze the measuring path and then automatically repeat it.
A flexible and personalized printout format can be easily issued in order to certify the performed testing and calculations.
The measuring software ínstalled on PC - in Windows environment - allows the graphic representatíon of the part under testíng.
PIVOTING LAMPIOPTICAL CONDENSER HOLDER ARM
This facility ensures easy movement of heavy parts to the table area.
It allows the finishing of gauges, templates, tools, dies, etc., directly on the worktable, thus making part removal/ unnecessary.
TURRET LENS HOLDER in replacement of standard single lens holder, in which bayonet-type lenses are p/aced by hand, the CYCLOP-1
can be fitted with revolving turret for changing the 4 lenses.
In the turret, 5X lens can be also accommodated.

HORIZONTAL DIASCOPIC PROJECT/ON (D/RECT)
Is the direct projection system used for checking external profiles.
It is mainly used for cylíndrícal components placed between the dead centres, on the "V" support or ín a více support, the latter in case when checking flat pleces.
The TELECENTRIC light source obtained by means of the optical condenser, is origínated by a 500W 220V halogen bulb lamp with light intensíty adjustment and motorfan lamp cooling system.

VERTICAL DIASCOPIC PROJECTION
Is obtaíned by means of the same ílluminator as for the epíscopic projectíon, but with the addítion of a glass support wíth íntegral 45° mírror, on whích small and or thin píeces can be placed directly. Thís effectively creates a second optical comparator giving a big increase
ín the scope and use of CYCLOP-1.
The object field ís the same as for the horizontal diascopíc projection whílst the measuríng field, obviously, is limited accordíng to the prism size, placed insíde the glass support, which is mm 245 x 105 (accessory 780-VBC)
OPTICAL SYSTEM
CYCLOP-1 OPTICAL EQUIPMENT íncludes 5, 10, 20, 25, 30, 50 and 100X magnification lenses, optical condensers, 302 mm (11.88) and 680 mm (26.77) Ø mírrors.
The 5X magnificatíon lens with 200 mm (8") projection fíeld is of particular ímportance for its síze and highly sophisticated optical features. All magnifícation lenses cover the whole screenof 1000 mm (40') diameter. Their high optícal quality, together with the hígh accuracy of the mirrors, ensure that the optical distortion is wíthin 0,05% (on request 0,02%) over the whole screen.

FEELER/REPEATER EQUIPMENT, TYPE P4-N FOR TURBINE BLADE AND DISC CHECKINGS
In the range of turbine blade checkings LTF refer to 40 years
Microtecnica experience during which their mechanícal and electronic equipment have bean supplied to most important lndustry leaders in this fíeld all over the world.
A P4-N device coupled to the CYCLOP-1 optical comparator, is available in versions for sirıgle blades and related dies as well as for blades machined on turbíne discs.
Both single blade and disc checks are carried out by continuosly scanning the blade sectíon by means of the feeler rollers, working on mixed coordinates princíple: polars and cartesians.
Repeater rollers, placed within the focal plane of the magnifícation
1ens, reproduce exactly on a 1:1 scale, feeler synchronized displacemenf.
By placing a drawing, made out in magnified scale (10 or 20X) and detailing the required accuracy, on the projector screen, it is possible to verífy the varíations between section profile and the actual one which is reproduced by means of projected repeater rollers. If the
P4-N equipment is not required the CYCLOP-1 can be used as a
standard optical comparator.
The P4-N consists of two devices:
a) feeler/repeater, placed on a roller carriage allowing the displacement on the horizontal axis, perpendicularly to the optical axís.
Feeler system is of "shears" type with feeler/repeater arms of same length, mounted on a preloaded ball bearing.
b) Single blade mounting support or dividing head support, the latter
being suítable for disc checking. This support is fixed perpendícularly on the left side of the
CYCLOP-1 projector table.
In case of a single blade, the support carries a spindle having a taper sectíon (1S0 30) and clamping devíce and a dead center for supportíng the blade.
The spindle can turn around its own axis, so allowing micrometric rotation of the blade around its own axís.
The table fixture support is mounted on a roller carriage, allowing a displacement of up to 500 mm (20'), paгallel to the spíndle axis, so giving the possibility to check different sections of the blade.
To establísh the exact sectíon to be checked, the carríage ís províded wilh either a mícrometric head, (to be used with slip gauges) or with a dígital readout.
For disc testíng, the support is provided wíth a spíndle, rotary encoder and a digital readout for ease of establishing the blade pitch.
