All the machines have a removable spindle to allow prolonged use for horizontal grinding operations. The wheel spindle axis can rotate 360° in the horizontal plane and can be tilted by ±20° in the vertical plane. The wheel spindle axis has two ends for keying the wheel and can be rotated in either direction for both "R" and "Ri" fixed speed versions, and for the "V" and "Vi" versions, with variable speed control. The longitudinal carriage moves along a pair of guides with crossed and pre-loaded rollers, in tempered steel, which ensures a high load capacity and avoids tipping over at the end of the travel. The upper table can be tilted by ±90° in the Horizontal plane. Dual controls make grinding operations on the machine easy. In the "Ri" and "Vi" models, the hydraulic equipment allows the longitudinal carriage to be automatically fed cross wise, with adjustable speeds from 0.1 to 12 m/min. A position limiter on the speed controller allows the operator to set-up a cross feed in order to switch immediately from the stop position to the selected working speed. In the "R" and "Ri" models, a fitted safety device prevents the machine from starting-up if the wheel which is mounted on the spindle is not compatible with the selected rotation speed. On all models, it is possible to fit horizontal control for vertical movement. The V3 is the application of three ball recirculation screws to the three linear movements with the possibility of displaying, on request, the three movements by means of optical lines and a value display. Thanks to a quick-release device of the screw, it is still possible to control rapid longitudinal movement with the belt by means of conventional knobs. Owing to these modifications, the machine can operate and be controlled with great precision and perform increasingly accurate, sophisticated work. The V3 version is only for the U50.
