LATHE MAS 165 S

The MAS 165-S lathe is the result of many years of specific experience in building small-sized lathes. Its special characteristics make it particularly suitable for technical schools, in addition to its excellent performance and high precision for effective production work.

Drive is conveyed directly from the motor to the headstock by means of two externally replaceable V-belts. All change gears and feed reversing mechanisms are housed in the head. All gears are cemented, hardened, and ground using MAAG equipment.

Lubrication is of the shower type and is ensured by a mechanical pump. An electromagnetic multiple disc brake is housed in the head, ensuring an instantaneous stoppage of the spindle; a special switch allows for the exclusion of such brake. The spindle is made of steel alloy, cemented, hardened, and runs on registerable TIMKEN taper roller bearings.

Both the gearbox and apron are completely enclosed, and their mechanisms run in oil baths. An externally registerable clutch in the apron allows machining with automatic stops.

A typical characteristic of this lathe is that its three prismatic bedways allow a contact area similar to that of lathes having a 30% wider bed, ensuring greater durability of the lathe's precision.

The bed is made of cast iron, adequately seasoned, and induction hardened. All electrical controls operate on 24 Volts by means of tele-switches.
