This is made possible by the RM 40K s compatibility with the tools of the above mentioned machines, optimízed work processes and the new user friendly Bihler control
system, VariControl VC1-E. The machine s open and easily accessible layout allows all Bihler key technologies such as welding, tapping, bolting, assembly and many
moгe to be integrated easily and efficiently ínto your manufacturing concept. The larger center aperture in the work-plate for more flexible central mandrel movements
also affords additional integration possibilities from the reaг of the machine. Tool and cam conversion times are signifícantly reduced thanks to innovative Bihler rapid-
exchange systems. A powerful two-point eccentric press with ample space for longer die sets rounds off the impressive mix of advantages.

Feeder
A mechanical feeder incorporating feed-time reductíon guarantees that materials are precision-fed into the machíne. The feed gripper and non-return gripper are both
hydraulically activated and are electronically controlled, whereby the non-return gripper s intermediate release is freely programmable. In addition to the standard feeder
mounted on the machine s right-hand síde, with its feed-length of up to 240 mm and maximum material strip width of 60 mm, it is possible to fít a feeder on left-hand
síde.
Press
The two-point eccentric press 90 kN, 30 before BDC is characterized by a larger space for die sets. Díes up to 320 mm ìn length and 170 mm wíde are easíly accom-
modated here. The height above BDC is 116 mm, the stroke 12 mm and the stroke position adjustment 0 to mm. The RM 40K can also be equipped with an optional 70 kN eccentric press.
Larger center aperture for more flexíble central mandrel movements
The work-plate bore-pattern is ídentical to the RM 40E and compatible with the RM 35. The center aperture dimensíons diameter 125 mm, width 200 mm and height 84 mm have been enlarged, allowing a maximum of two posítively controlled or spring-loaded central-mandrels to be íntegrated flexibly in the overall concept from the rear of the machine. Seven mounting positions are available on the rear side of the machine for this purpose.
Safety as standard
The noíse and operator protectíon íntegrated in the machine s design conforms to the current EC Machinery
Directive 98/37 EC. 1n addition to the two emergency- stop buttons, the machíne is equipped with a machíne-controller with 1/0 bus modules for complete machine
control and a tool-controller with 3 freeIy-programmabIe modules each of which has 8 channels programmable as inputs/outputs. A press and slide force monitor with
4 inputs far machine monitoring and 4 inputs for tool monitoring is also available as optìon.
Slide units with tool and cam rapíd- exchange systems
To achieve faster tool-exchange all normal slide uníts max. stroke 40 mm; max. nominal force 60 kN and all narrow slíde units max. stroke 50 mm, nominal force 40 kN are equípped with an ínnovative rapid tool-clam-píng system. The punch-holder interlock is quíckly and
easily released by a pin. After the new tool is inserted it must only be fíxed using the clampíng pin.
The old tool mounting-system is also retained, so that the RM 35, RM 40 and RM 40E tools can be fitted without any díffículty to the new machine s slides.
Iп addition, the ínnovatíve cam system consisting of a cam carrier and driving disk ensures that the cams are rapidly exchanged.

The RM 40K is equipped with the new, fully integrated
Bihler VC1-E control system, which was designed specifically for the Bihler E and K machines and which excels through simple operation.
