MACHINE TOOLS Tandem Underfloor Wheelset Lathes UGLX 30

The need to increase productivity and reduce downtime of underfloor wheelset lathes has led to the development of the Tandem solution, consisting of two lathes mounted on a common supporting bed. One of the lathes is fixed while the other has a longitudinal movement to vary the distance between the two machines depending on the bogie design. With the machine layout and developed control systems, the Tandem solution can reduce the number of operators required.

The operator's platform is designed to provide optimal visibility of the machining operations while being protected from chips and fumes generated during operation, thanks to a suction system. An automatic transport system guarantees the continuous evacuation of chips produced by the machine.
