Schiess Froriep OFBW Horizontal Milling and Boring Machine with Axially Traversing Headstock

OFBW is a medium heavy duty floor type milling and boring machine that has a traversing headstock. The workpiece is clamped to a secured floor plate, and the column can be traversed at right angles to the spindle axis. The machine is designed with an axially traversing headstock and is suitable for economically machining large components that cannot be frequently rec lamped and realigned due to their weight, dimensions, and required accuracies. The headstock sag caused by gravity is fully compensated in each extension position, even when heavy milling and boring heads are attached to the front face. The machine permits heavy depths of cut when roughing, while at the same time ensuring high accuracy in finishing operations, even when the access to the cutting point is exceptionally difficult. The shortest possible idle times are achieved through high rapid traverse rates and optimum acceleration. Rotary and traversing worktables are available for the largest workpiece sizes and weights. These tables further increase the economy. We supply floor type milling and boring machines with a traversing headstock, up to 320 mm boring spindle diameter, 460 mm milling spindle diameter, 4400 mm total extension traverse, 200 kW main drive rating, 10 m vertical traverse, and with any optional horizontal traverse.
