Schiess BFR horizontal boring milling and turning centers

Schiess BFR Horizontal Boring, Milling, and Turning Centers with Worktables - BFR

The BFR machine offers many key features that contribute to its flexibility and versatility in various applications. This machine has an axially traversing ram and can be integrated into a multi-stage manufacturing system. It also has interchangeable attachment heads and pallet-type worktables without an NC-axis for boring, milling, and turning. The BFR machine has a temperature-controlled high spindle speed and achieves machining accuracy through hydrostatic guideways and spindle bearing systems, thermo-symmetric headstock guidance, and high system damping. The surface quality of the workpieces is enhanced due to chatter-free cuts as a result of high system damping.

The BFR machine also has rotating and traversing worktables TD, TDV, light construction. The TD, TDV type comes in four options, i.e., 8, 14, 25, and 45. The maximum load on the table ranges from 8 to 45 tons, and the minimum and maximum clamping areas vary from 800 x 800 mm to 3000 x 3000 mm. The T-slots spacing/size varies from 100/18 to 200/36 mm, and the maximum rim diameter of the table support ranges from 650 mm to 1800 mm. The table travel TDV for the different options varies from 1000 mm to 4000 mm, and the fixing torque rotary ranges from 4 kN m to 45 kN m. The feed power linear varies from 15 kN to 45 kN, and the feed range linear and rotary varies from 4000 mm/min to 2160/min and 3/30/600/1080 mm/min to 450/min, respectively.
