Skoda SR 1000 lathe

The SR 1000 lathe is a CNC machine designed by ŠKODA MACHINE TOOL, a company with over 100 years of tradition in machine tool manufacturing. It is the smallest lathe in the company's lathe series and has a modular design that follows the latest trends in machine tool construction. The machine includes an operator control station and can be customized with various accessories such as work piece rests, turret heads, powered tools, grinding heads, or tube covers for the work space. The SR 1000 workstation can be installed on a flat floor area with position anchoring elements, saving investment costs.

The machine has a center height of 630mm, a swing over carriage diameter of 1000mm, a swing over bed diameter of 1250mm, a maximum loading capacity of 16,000kg, a main motor power rating of 51kW, and a maximum spindle torque of 12,000Nm. It has two gears, and its travel in the cross direction (X axis) is 600mm. The maximum work piece length is 6000mm, and its cutting force in axes X and Z is 30kN.

The headstock bottom, middle part, and lid are made of gray iron, and the longitudinal and cross slides have the guiding castings surfaces lined with biplast. The longitudinal travel drive consists of two motor and gearbox sets in a master-slave arrangement engaging into a common toothed rack. The spindle is seated in a pair of radial roller bearings and a pair of mutually pre-stressed roller thrust bearings. The cross-slide drive system consists of a ball crew and pre-stressed nut. The machine has a clamping plate including four independent jaws or a three-jaw chuck, and its tailstock has a spindle with an axial hole of diameter 100mm. The bottom and top tailstock parts are gray iron castings, and the tailstock travels along the machine bed powered by a combination of an asynchronous motor and gearbox.

The machine's bed is made of gray iron castings and has no hardened guiding surfaces of hardness 200 10 HB. On request, the bed can be provided with surfaces hardened to 55-60 HRC. Sunk parts of the bed make possible direct chip removal from the machine onto a chip conveyor located under the machine bed.
