Tongtai Machine Tools Co., Ltd., a machine manufacturer with the largest scale among the TTGroup's members, has the highest revenue among Taiwan's machinery manufacturing groups, according to the revenue of the listed company in the Taiwanese stock market (stock symbol 4526).

With 50 years of sturdy technology foundation since its establishment in 1969 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Tongtai produces customized machines and has now become a maker with diverse production lines. Tongtai's first and second plants are both located in the Luzhu Scientific Park in Kaohsiung, and its overseas production plant, TongYu Machine Tools Co., Ltd., is located in Suzhou, China.

Tongtai has always emphasized innovation as the key to entrepreneurial development, which can be seen from the investment of 3-5 as R&D's budget every year. Besides focusing R&D in the cutting machine field, its development also crosses for advanced processing technology, such as ultrasonic-assisted machining, laser processing, and 3D metal printing. Based on years of experiences and technology, Tongtai has successfully passed the application of 73 patents in Taiwan, Japan, and other countries.

Tongtai provides a one-stop solution for a requirement with diverse production lines, including vertical/horizontal machining centers, vertical/horizontal lathes, multi-tasking machining centers, boring milling lathes, metal additive manufacturing equipment, PCB machine, and laser processing equipment. It is capable of providing both hardware and software solutions. The company has established direct sales offices in Asia, Europe, South-East Asia, and other key countries, such as China, Japan, and Thailand, with over 60 sales service networks.

Tongtai's history includes the launch of its first CNC Lathe, horizontal machining center, vertical machining center, and the first automatic loading/unloading system in 1980. In cooperation with the Chung Shan Institute of Science and Technology, Tongtai developed an automatic dual-cutting machine that contributed to military equipment production. Tongtai's CNC lathes and vertical machining centers won Taiwan Excellence Awards by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 1993. It received ISO 9002 certification in 1998, ISO-14001 Certificate in 1999, ISO-9001 Certificate in 2002, and AEO certificate from the Directorate General of Customs, Ministry of Finance in 2010, becoming the first company to obtain this certificate in the machine tool industry.
