Tos MN 80A athe

TOS The MN 80 A center lathe is a versatile machine designed for machining components made of metal or plastic. It comes equipped with a wide range of spindle speeds, reverse motor run switch, and thread cutting facility. The machine also includes accessories such as a collet chuck attachment that can be operated while the machine is running. The lathe is mounted on a wooden cabinet-type bench with the left-hand section housing the drive motor, the switch to start and stop the motor, reverse the motor run and the fuses.

The carriage consists of a longitudinal slide, cross slide, and swivel tool slide, all mounted on precision-ground and hardened bed ways. The slide feed screws come with indexing collars and adjustable feed screw nuts to eliminate backlash. The four-way tool post is also indexable.

Optional extras for the machine include different types of lathe centers, a drilling plate for round work, a faceplate with four reversible jaws, and various collet chucks for gripping materials of different diameters. The machine is also available in different versions with electrical equipment wired for different three-phase voltages, 60 Hz frequency, and surface finish suited for service in tropical climates.

The MN 80 A center lathe is manufactured by TOS Čelákovice and has a swing over bed/cross slide of 160/90 mm, a distance between centers of 320 mm, and a width of bed of 120 mm. The machine weighs 180 kg and has a main spindle with a spindle nose of M 39x4 and a hole through the spindle of 18 mm. The spindle speeds are adjustable with nine steps in the range of 150-2000 rpm. The machine is capable of cutting 19 longitudinal feed rates within mm/rev and 19 metric threads with a range of pitches from 0.25 to 3 mm. It can also cut Whitworth threads with a range of pitches from 36-7.5 t.p.i., 17 module threads, and 18 diametral pitch threads.
