Tos WFQ 80 NCA CNC horizontal boring and milling machine

Retos Varnsdorf, located in the Czech Republic, has a 40-year tradition in the horizontal boring machine overhaul field. They utilize modern technology as their parent company, TOs Varnsdorf. Their contouring horizontal boring machine W FQ80NCA-CNC/50 features cross-shaped beds, 3 linear axes, a rotary table with additional supports, and a non-sliding work spindle. It is designed for universal use in engineering production and allows carousel usage of the rotary table. It is suitable for roughing and precision contouring and can optionally be fitted with a tool magazine with a manipulator ATC, tool cooling kit CHZ, cooling through the spindle axis CHOV, oil-mist cooling, swarf conveyor, or motor spindle.

All functions of the machine, except for tool clamping and unclamping, are controlled via the control panel, which includes a keyboard, a switch panel, and an LCD monitor. Tool clamping and unclamping are controlled by switches on the headstock. The control panel is completed with a portable control panel handwheel, which duplicates some basic functions of the control of the machine. The control panel is located on the rotary console in front of the headstock. The control system allows manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic modes. If the machine is equipped with the automatic tool changer ATC, an extra handheld ATC control panel is needed when the magazine is loaded. The standard communication interface allows for an easy administration and distribution of technological programs as well as diagnostic or service works of the control system.

The low-end version control system features cylindrical interpolation using group guidance, HEIDENHAIN iTNC 530, and a handwheel of the rotary table. The guideways on all linear axes are by SIEMENS S1N 8400, and the kinematics of the movable X, Y, Z reinforced with hardened steel. The axes groups plates are powered by brushless digital servo-drives, and the transversal bed servo-drive is by SIEMENS, including keys. The guideways of the rotary table are longitudinal bed ball screws with radio axial bearing scrapped. The lubrication includes axial lubrication for the kinematics of the B axis, and the principle of gears pair mutually frequency of lubrication cycles. The machine capabilities include interacting on a gear ring of the table that correlates to the traveled track of a particular group, X, Y, Z, B axes powered in interpolation, and hydraulically clamped when changing tools by electromagnetic and gear ring brake.

This document only covers the WF80NCA and the WFQ80NCA machines, and does not include the previous development range of the WHQ9 and the WFQ80NC. The reconstruction of these machines is not under consideration because of the particularly low level of production pieces and the fundamental difference in the design of the individual assemblies.
