The spotting, finishing, and testing are very important and the constructors know very well. Quality and life of dies mainly depend on these operations because die spotting is the final step of die construction, also involving suitable machines and fittings.

In order to make die spotting operations easier and convenient, as well as cost-effective, UTAS offers its range of INJECTION WITHOUT PROBLEMS - HIGH PRECISION - NO DOSING NEEDED - EASE OF OPERATION elements placed on the container of the injection unit.

Lower hydraulic ejector: It is a knockout bar which is in the middle of the table when this is outside the press plates. The ejector is for the make-ready of the die pins during the finishing.

Supplementary movement: Pressure plug to control one or more cylinders of the die.

HYDRAULIC UNIT working with mineral oil: It is made with the best hydraulic components available on the international market, BOSCH, and others, which are selected ELECTRIC PLANT 1 according to the particular use one wants to get from the press. The electric plant is composed of a control cabinet separate from the machine. The cabinet is connected to it by means of a multipolar plug and a motive power socket.

Such a unit is composed of:

  • Oil tank: made of thick plate. Its walls are covered with a special insulating varnish which eliminates the effects of condensation and is insensitive to the action of the hydraulic fluid.
  • Filtering system: by means of micron on the discharge.
  • Propelling unit: composed of a pump and an electric motor.
  • Valves: for pressure and flow rate control.

Structure made with sheets of electrically-welded steel, stabilized with heat treatment. Ground, lapped cylinders, covered by bellows for dust protection.

Antifriction bronze guide bushes.

Moving platen guide with a ratio of 1:5 in respect to the tie-bar diameter.

Chromium-plated guide columns, entirely protected by bellows. Parallelism between lower plate and upper plate: +/- 0.1 mm over a length of 600 mm.

Lower plate: completely extractable from the tie-bars port. In the GR 3, the lower plate can turn by 70°.

Upper plate: rotating by 180°.

Dynamic blow: it is necessary for a better marking of the zones to be spotted, which avoids numerous opening/closing operations of the die under pressure.
