EMCO COMPACT 10 Lathe witch Milling and Drilling Unit

It’s basic equipment, the EMCO COMPACT 10 is a center lathe with leadscrew and automatic feed. The increased safety features include additional covers for the drill chuck, lathe chuck, and chip guards accessories.

Main spindle: strong, generously dimensioned in adjustable taper roller bearings. High rigidity is achieved by short distance between bearings, large spindle diameter, and short taper direct chuck mounting. True running of the spindle ensures highest operating precision. Special V-belt-drive Gates-Power drive system offers full transmission of power, extremely smooth and quiet running, optimum turning finish. Slides and tailstock in their own Vee guides reduce wear of the guideways, providing continuous precision and long life expectancy. For turning long tapers, the tailstock is laterally adjustable.

The Lathe

The Machining Center

With the vertical milling and drilling unit accessory, the EMCO COMPACT 10 becomes a high-capacity universal machine tool
The vertical unit can be mounted easily at the rear of the lathe bed with 4 screws, this also at a later time. Electrical connections are already available.
The vertical head can be swivelled up to 360 degrees: milling and drilling work can be carried out in any angle without rebuilding or resetting.
The maximum height between table cross slide and spindle nose of 305 mm also enables work on large workpieces. As the unit has its own drive motor, 6 spindle speeds from 50 Hz 120 to 2000 in geometrical progression are available. Independent of this, all longitudinal feeds of the lathe slide are also available.

The Lathe Chuck

Constructional Features
Headstock
Made of vibration-free, strongly ribbed cast iron. The main spindle runs on high-quality adjustable taper roller bearings. Spindle nose according to DIN 55021, size 3.

Advantage: Large spindle hole diameter 26 mm.

Thread cutting
Feed for left-hand and right-hand threads via gear quadrant, reversing gear and leadscrew. With the set of interchangeable gears, available as an accessory, you can obtain:

Inch type machine: 13 metric, 21 inch, and 8 diametral pitches additionally.

Metric machine: 18 metric, 21 inch, and 8 module threads additionally.

Tailstock
Made of vibration-free, high-grade cast iron. Located on an individual Vee-guide. For taper turning, moveable on the tailstock plate.

Clamping with quick-action tensioning lever.

Tailstock quill with inside MT socket No. 2, moved axially by threaded spindle.

Handwheel fitted with a scale ring for precise drilling and boring jobs.

Lathe bed

Slídes
The longitudinal slide runs on the Vee of the bed wíthout play length of the guíde guarantees extreme accuracy. The cross slíde runs on the longítudínal slide in a dovetail guíde.
Adjustable through gib and setting screws.
Exact posítíoníng by means of large-dímensíoned scale ríngs. Longítudínal and cross
slídes can be clamped. The top slíde wíth dovetail guide is fítted on the cross slide, and
can be swívelled by 360 degrees. You can thus precísely manufacture cones, in every
angular position.
