Faccin 4hel plate roll bending machine

4HEL State of the Art in Rolling Technology

Four-roll plate bending machines are considered to be the most versatile, precise, and easy-to-use plate rolls. The bending of the trailing edge is carried out after the cylinder is rolled, and cylinders can be rolled in one pass in one direction. The rear lateral roll opposite the feeding side can be used as a back gauge for immediate plate squaring, resulting in very easy plate alignment and one-man operation. After the plate is squared, it is always securely clamped between the top and bottom central pinch rolls, ensuring that pre-bending and rolling operations are safe and precise without the risk of the plate slipping.

The pre-bending operation does not require the plate to tilt below the feeding level as with traditional three-roll machines, which allows horizontal motorized roller tables to improve the introduction of the plate between the rolls. The cylinder can be rolled to the required diameter immediately after the pre-bending of the leading edge, and this design requires less workshop space as the plate feeding area is on one side of the machine only.

The standard configuration includes linear slides for roll movement, four bearings supporting each bending roll, ultra-wide bearing housings, an electronic balancing system, induction-hardened and surface-polished rolls, a Siemens numerical control unit, digital readouts for roll positioning, three independently driven rolls, a movable control panel on wheels, a cone bending attachment, a centralized lubrication system pump, a safety guard cable around the machine, and CE certification for safety.

Upon request, additional options are available such as side rolls with extra drive, automated loading and unloading systems, motorized roller feed tables, automatic ejectors, side and top plate supports, machines designed for rolling hot plates, lower-budget swing arm solutions, integrated welding systems, and special colors.

Another important standard feature to increase the versatility of the machine is the roll shaft extensions, which allow dies to be fitted for bending profiles and pipes. The very high rotation power ensures superior rolling torque and speed without any loss of energy, as all three rolls are driven independently by hydro-motors and gearboxes directly coupled to the roll shafts.

Case histories demonstrate the capabilities of these machines in applications such as graphic CNC four-roll systems for automatically rolling complex shapes, windmill tower production lines that guarantee the highest productivity rates and superior rolling quality without re-rolling, and integrated loaders, feeders, and ejectors for completely automated rolling cycles. These machines have also been used for aerospace and shipbuilding applications, HVAC components production, and rolling conical shapes for cement mixers or the food processing industry. Special versions are available for three- and four-roll machines designed for thick-walled long pipes in oil and gas pipelines.
