The history of HM Machinery: It all began in 1968 when Thisted Elektro was founded, with a focus on the sale and repair of electro installations. In 1977, the name was changed to Elektro ApS. In 1979, production of sheet metalworking machines started. Over time, the company shifted its emphasis to machine manufacturing, becoming Production A/S. In 1994, Production UK Ltd. was established in London to support export sales in the UK. In the same year, Production also acquired the Swedish company Strands Mekaniska Verkstad, specializing in gear-driven vertical drilling machinery. In 1997, the company changed its name to Machinery AB. In 1999, the Swedish operations were merged, and the headquarters were established in Rosenfors, Sweden.
