Kohler Non-motorized Off-Coilers with 2-roller

Kohler Coilers Non-motorized Off-Coilers single or double sided off-coilers can be set up in conjunction with leveling machines. A built-in adjustable brake ensures the proper back tension of the strip running from the idle coiler to the leveling machine. The strip is drawn off by the leveling machine. Coiler and leveling machine are mounted on a common base frame. The coiler can be shifted laterally.

Non-motorized Off-Coilers with 2-roller strip take-off single or double-sided off-coilers fitted with 2-roller strip take-off are used for strips running at a speed of more than 60 m/min and for which no leveling is required. A built-in adjustable brake ensures the proper back tension of the strip running between the idle coiler and the 2-roller strip take-off. Coiler and leveling machine are mounted on a common base frame. The coiler can be shifted laterally.

Motorized Off-Coilers With these single and double-sided off-coilers, strip speeds between 0 and 40 m/min can be achieved. The coilers illustrated show 3 different strip run-off arrangements. The strip speed can be regulated by means of a dancer arm or a non-contacting variable speed loop control. On request, motorized off-coilers can be provided with a reversing device.

Pulling On-Coilers These coiler types are used in conjunction with a strip brake set up at the inlet side and mounted on a common base frame. The strip brake takes care that a constant back tension is produced. The braking force can be obtained either by two superimposed rollers, by surface pressure, or by magnetic force as used for ferrite strips. If a defined steady back tension must be maintained as the coil diameter steadily increases, a computer senses the diameter build-up and automatically adjusts speed by computing the back tension to be exerted.

Bolt Expansion For coil weights up to 500 kg, the manually operated bolt expansion system can be used to achieve a greater expansion range.

Articulated Lever Expansion The hand-operated spindle articulated lever system finds use for coil weights up to 1000 kg.

Sliding Wedge Expansion For coil weights from 1000 kg onward, the hydraulically operated sliding wedge system is used to tension the coil.
