Straighteners like the EM-85/300 are essential for correcting the curvature acquired by metal strips after being wound into coils. During the straightening process, the strip passes through sets of unopposed rolls, experiencing fluctuating pressures. This action releases internal stresses within the metal material, resulting in a softer material that prevents excessive wear on forming dies and premature wear.

LARA straighteners, such as the EM-85/300, offer flexibility in terms of the number and diameter of straightening rollers. This flexibility allows for customization based on the application, strip section, and material hardness.

Application of the latest technologies in servomotor actuation and electronic control systems to the traditional concept of straightening results in a single unit for both straightening and feeding operations, allowing the installation of complete coil feeding lines in limited spaces. These units of compact design save money as well as space in processes wich call for long loop lengths. All Lara Emae machines are fitted with a high dynamic maintenance free servomotor and electronic position control to ensure precise strip feeding, not only in processes with repetition of the same feeding pitch, but also in those requiring combinations of both advance and retract, even where differing advance lengths are involved.

The straightener model EM-85/600 is equipped with a motorized hydraulic introduction system, enabling automatic threading of the first turn of the coil directly from the control desk. This innovative feature enhances operational efficiency by automating the initial threading process, thereby reducing manual intervention and streamlining coil handling procedures.
