Mas VO-50 Radial Drilling Machine Design features

On reaching the programmed depth of drilling, the 30 l capacity coolant tank is placed spindle feed motion is automatically tripped. In tapping operations, the sense of spindle rotation is reversed automatically on reaching the programmed depth. The program of spindle speeds, feeds, and drilling depths is usually set while machining the first workpiece. The spindle is mounted in front on the NNK double-row roller bearing and a radial ball bearing, in the rear on one radial ball bearing. Axial thrusts are taken up by two ball thrust bearings. The vertical motion of the drill spindle is performed either by hand by means of a double-arm lever or in automatic feed. The vertical fine adjustment of the drill spindle is affected by means of a handwheel arranged at the bottom spindle head wall. The oil level in the tank is shown on the bottom oil gauge. The oil gauge at the top wall of the spindle head oil tank is provided for the operator to observe the correct work of the spindle head lubrication system. Oil from the spindle head tank is used at the same time to supply the hydraulic circuits of the machine. The arm guideways provided on the column shell and the arm elevation screw are lubricated by a self-contained pump type sucking the lubrication oil from the tank arranged in the spindle head bottom. Standard variant of VO 50 machine B with max. distance spindle to column shell 1250 mm and max. height of spindle nose over baseplate 1300 mm. The standard machine variant features C with 2290 x 1000 mm baseplate and 1470 x 966 mm working surface of the table. D with electrical equipment wired for other than standard  x 380 V, 50 Hz mains voltage.
