High efficíency and space savings
The SL-150S is field-proven continuous machining/dual-process CNC lathe enabling
high-level process integration and labor-savings.
In addition, it is rather smaller than conventional standard models.
The contradictory requirements of efficiency and reduced space are realized without compromise in this new package.
Design improvements include fast and accurate drive systems, increased feed rates,
increased rapid traverse rates, direct drive spindle, and faster turret index.
And the machine is flexible and expandable, making customization to your specifications easy.

Reliabílíty, safety and easy operatíon
Thís machine has everythíng you would expect from Morí Seíkí: fast tool index,
quick rapíd traverse, superb rigidíty, antí-thermal dísplacement — plus Mori Seíki's detaíled attentíon to relíabílíty and safety, íncludíng door interlock and ímpact resistant víewing window.
Further, the operation panel is improved due to líghtweíght and tílting constructíon.

Contínuous 1st/2nd operatíons
The 3-axís control permits símultaneous fírst and second operatíon cutting for chuck work, with no setup change.
On completíon of the 1st operatíon, the workpiece is transferred to the synchronized headstock 2 spíndle. The 2nd process operatíon (back end turníng)
then starts ímmedíately. From raw material to fíníshed part, all in one machiníng process, wíth the added advantage of ímproved accuracy.

Universal toolíng and super-tast turret index
The 12-statíon turret affords plenty of flexíbility in tooling. The non-lift construction of the turret permíts clamp and unclamp during slide motíon. The turret index tíme is 0.2 seconds per station and 0.5 seconds per síx statíons.

ldentical dírect drive spíndles
Powerful DDS spíndles with ídentícal motor output provide reduced vibration that ímproves surface fínish and roundness. The spíndles are synchronized, which means there is no need
to stop the spíndle to transfer round, square, or hexagon bar stock, and the
short acceleratíon/deceleration tíme (3.9 sec) gives hígh effíciency.
■ Fast rapíd traverse idle time
All axes aгe dríven by high-speed servo motors. Morí Seíkí utílize the tríed and
tested box way concept for rigídíty and stability. We are able to increase rapid
traverse rates to 18 m/ min (708.7 іpm) in the X axís and 24 m/ min (944.9 іpm)
in the Z axís.
■ Desígned for automatíon
The SLR150 Seríes machínes are designed for acceptíng automatic loading devíces.
Regardless, if gantry, high-speed or other loaders are requíred, they can be installed easíly without modífícatíon.
Standard features means productívíty
A manual ín-machine tool presetter which slashes set-up time and a parts catcher which facilitates machíne operatíon are both standard. Chíp conveyors (ríght or rear disposal), bar feeders, and other options are available on request.
