Pattern Monitor (CM-I)
Pattern Monitor - Machining data of a workpart is memorized as a model. Active machining data is compared with model
pattern for monitoring of repetitive workparts. This system is suitable for lighter maćhining operations and is especially effective for small drílling operations down to approximately 0.200 diameter. • pattern monítor (CM-1)
Cuttíng Monítoríng (CM-II)
Maximum Loadíng Monitor - Each process of this machining operation is monitored a ainst p predetermined Power-setting
Current loads exceeding the preset limits places the machine into an alarm cycle and machine begins pre-programmed
Tool Lífe Monitor System (TL)
A predetermined tool life can be selected for up to 120 tools. When tool life has expired, an alarm cycle is generated and the machíning cycle is either stopped or the tool is replaced with a spare.
Tool Breakage Detector (TB)
This unique system is particularly useful when working with tools too small to be monitored by variances in spindle load current as used on the pattern monitor system. It detects the contact of tool and workpart by electric signals and compares them with a previously memorized contact pattern. Thus, it detects tool breakage by the difference in contact pattern.
Automatíc Switch to Spare Tool (ST)
When a tool is determined defective or life time expired, this function exchanges the tool automatically with a spare unit without interruption of the automatic cycle. Up to 5 spares can be programmed for any or all of tools in the tool magazine.
This system is independent of part program and thus can bé effectively used when machining a number of different workparts at random on a multiple pallet machine. Worn tool replacement and system resetting can be completed without ínterrupting
automatic cycle.
Adaptive Control System (AC)
This system optimizes machining cycles by varying cutting feedrates above and below the programmed rates as may be
required by fluctuations in cutting load caused by shape of workpart, material variances or tool wear. This unít will vary
feedrates from 30 to 150% of programmed feedrate. If feedrate control becomes impossíble due to abnormal cutting condítions, the program goes ínto an alarm cycle and begins preprogrammed corrective action.
Air Cut Reduction System (AZ)
This system reduces air cut time which occurs due to uneven dimensions of workpíeces. It detects tool to work contact/non-contact. In case of non-contact, the cutting feed reverts to a high approach feed selected by M code. In case of
contact, it reverts to feed selected by NC tape command. Air Cut Reduction System shortens the air cut time and reduces non-cutting time greatly.
Automatic Measuring System (AM)
This system measures the diameter of machined ho1e, external diameter of flange, width of slot, etc. It monitors excess
allowance due to tool wear, errors through thermal displacement, and presents consecutive work faults during unmanned operation.
Automatíc Centeríng System (AO)
Under the automatic centeríng system, a stylus pícks up a datum point on either the workpiece or fixture and automatícally
compensates for any mis-alignment between workpart, fixture or machine. Niigata's stylus probe has been designed specífically for use in a shop envíronment. The stylus provídes air míst cleaníng of the workpart during part probing to ensure system relíability. With thís feature, the related position of the machine and workpart become constant leading to more
accurate part machining.
Since set up and alígnment ís completed without operator intervention, productívíty is substantially increased.

Full-scale FMS model featuring computerized DNC (mini-computer) and optical data highway, developed and installed to completely machine about 130 different
types of box-shaped workpieces.
The system uśed the vanguard technology particularly characterized by its fully automated storage and delivery system of wórkpieces to/from the automatic storage
rack. A workpiece is automatically called by a command from the computer and returned to the rack after all required operations have been completed.
To improve the ATC efficiency, consideration is also given to autornatically supplementing the tool magazine of eac h machining center with tools prepared in a remote tooling area
