Potisje PD Horizontal universal lathes FAMILY PD LATHES CHARACTERISTICS

BED
Sturdy and very massive bed with 710 mm of with
has been manufactured under unified system of nucleus. The correct drainage of chips and coolant liquid has been enabled from working space. Under rear guide nucleuses have been executed in the shape of tubes in which the send has been left, what plays an important role as a muffler of oscillations. The bed has been executed in such manner that different lenghts can be performed easily. Additional deformations have been avoided by natural and artificial growing oid. Sliding guides are inductively hardened on 50 Hrc and high quality ground, what makes possible great precisness and long duration.
HEADSTOCK
Headstock, as conveyor of main motion enables the choice of working regime with continuous change of revolution numbers in defined range, together with
regulated main electro motor of uniflow current.
Driving electro motor has been placed on the stable carrier specially constructed for this purpose. Massive construction arid the way of setting of the carrier enable well centering in connection with clutch and entering spindle of the headstock and at the same time reducing of the vibrations. The headstock has been executed with elements of transmissions which are quality worked out and projected. Used material of built in elements of transmission is the high quality steel what enable long duration and quality work. All mobile elements on the spots of mutual contacts are richly lubrificated what assures good operation of each assembly and long term duration. The headstock lubrification control is setted apart on the visible place on the machine, so it can be controlled at any moment. The main spindle is embeded with high precise conical roller bearings. Lubrification of the bearings has been executed continuous in such manner that reaching stationary temperature condition the necessary quantity of oil still remain in it. All vital elements of the headstock are thermally treated and precisely ground. The change of revolutions numbers can be done automatically by hydraulic way. Main spindle opening is adjusted to the possibility of built in automatic clamping and main spindle end has been executed towards DIN standards size 11.
FEED BOX
Feed box transmission has been executed compactly and enables choice of desired feeds by replacing corresponding handles on the feed box so that any change of gears out headstock of feed box is not necessary. All feed box elements has been executed of the highest quality materials with very good machining.
Gears and shafts have been machined of alloy steel, thermally treated and well embeded on high precise bearings. All parts are richly lubrificated under permanent control of lubrification. The handles are easily replaceable what enable simple choice of various pitches when machine is in operation.
TOOLHOLDER
Tool holder presents strong, massive and stable assembly. Its sliding surfaces are correctly dimensioned, carefully machined and guided on the hardened bedways guides. The clearnace are well adjusted while assembling, so for the long period it is not
necessary any additional adjustment. Cross slider has been guided on the large guides in the shape of taildove and it supports rotating slider, it is possible to treat conical surfaces by upper driven slider. The lubrification of the slider is centralozed by impuls system. Vertical slider travel as well as cross slider travel are limited by strong stops and electro breakers by which the collision of mobile parts has been avoided. The sliders system encircles in standard execution four side tool holder, and it is also possible to built in, upon request, the quick change tool holder.
APRON
The apron as constructional entirety is quality executed with very convenient disposition of govering, so that the number of handles is reduced to minimum.

TAILSTOCK
The tailstock enables machinig of working piece between centres. Towards executed construction it enables governing by its body and tailstock sleeve
travel the width of cross support. From above reasons and taking into consideration that it must satisfy necessary rigidity, the tailstock has been executed very massive and with big rigidity. Besides, supporting the tailstock also enables necessary axial force between centers at machining between centres. This force have to be strong enough to perform centering at setting of working piece between centers. It is possible to make replacement of tailstock vertically by hand or automatic by mean of its own drive. Bringing the tailstock in desired position on the machine fixing has been assured by clamping of tailstock pannel. This makes impossible movement of the tailstock over guides after setting of the working piece. Bringing and leading out of the tailstock from cross axle of the machine has been enabled by separate mechanism. The system for reading the sizes of axial force can be built on the tailstock upon buyer's request.
STEADIES
Steadies serve for acceptance of work piece during process of machining. The aim of auxilliary supporting is as follows
at machining of long flexible work pieces auxilliary supporting has the aim to keep from bending of work piece under action of cutting forices or due its own weight.
at machining of the ends of long work pieces when the use of tailstock centers is not possible for supporting of work piece.
regarding that the work pieces of these lathes are very heavy, steadies serve for bringing of the work piece axis in machine axis re centering in the process of setting and clamping of the work piece on the machine.
For PD lathes size following steadies have been done as
travelling steady, which can be located in different positions along bedways guides
fixed steady which has been fixed on the support.
Governing of the steadies has been done manually and they have been executed with leaning on four spots. The contact with work pieces has been done with sliding and rolling bodies.
COOLANT SYSTEM
Main parts of coolant system are consisting of
pipeline for drainage of coolant liquid with stopcock for regulation of liquid quantity while processing
system of bathtubs for acceptance of coolant liquid
The bed of the lathe has been shaped in such manner to assure collection and bringing back of the coolant liquid into the bathtubs. The system for coolant liquid has been situated on the rear side of the machine. The bassins have been executed on the rear side of the machine too.
The pumpintake has been immersed in the coolnat liquid. It is necessary to clean up from time to time the bathtub.
In the frame of the type and size of PD lathes, the output of the nozzle has been executed towards tools is bringing of the coolant liquid.
LUBRICATION ASSEMBLY
The lubrification of the machine is one of the most essential function for long and normal operation of the machine in its exploitation time. While constructing the machine special attention has been paid about lubrication of all mobile parts and assemblies, so depending on needs the follwing has been reached
circulating lubrication of all necessary spots in headstock
impuls lubrication of sliding surfaces
manually lubrication of places per lubrication scheme
HYDRAULICS ASSEMBLY
Hydraulic device represents compact entirety of elements which enable safe and quality work in completition of given function. In executed variant of the machine only the hydraulic change of revolution numbers has been performed. The assemblies of hydro aggregate as well as disposition of pipeline are shown on the picture in the catalogue.
ELECTRO DEVICE
Electro equipment has been performed very functionally. The machine have electro cabinet in which have been placed all governing and controlling elements.
Control panneis have been setting on the machine, respecting all ergonom and safety criterions.
Elements of foreign and domestic production, have been protected towards valid standards and regulations.
The leading of conductors has been executed by mean od conductrors carriers on the rear side of the machine, what give better safety during machine operation. BASE OF THE MACHINE WITH SYSTEM FOR COOLANT LIQUID
As the base of the machine plays important part in the processing system, specially at the machine with great distance between centers, the same is very massive constructiun and enables correct machine foundation.
The tanks for collection and distribution of coolant liquid have been placed on the rear side of the machine.
Alternatively, it is possible to perform the base of the machine in such manner to serve at the same time as a tank for collection and distribution of coolant liquid, what is especially significant at great distance between centers.
