Safop UGL 15 MACHINE TOOLS Underfloor Wheelset Lathes for Urban Vehicle Maintenance

This type of lathe has been designed to meet the specific needs arising from the reprofiling of the rolling surface and flanges of wheels, as well as the brake discs of the urban vehicles. The unique design of the underfloor lathe allows all machining operations to be carried out on site without having to remove any part from the vehicle, whether it has internal or external bearing boxes.

Measurement and Turning System

The measuring system enables all necessary measurements to be carried out in fully automatic mode, with a final printout of a customized protocol. The cross carriage consists of a large boring bar, which on one hand allows heavy machining operations and on the other hand, can also machine both internal and external brake discs of the wheels and especially those positioned on the axle's midpoint.
