Schiess Froriep FBW Horzontal milling and boring machine

Schiess Froriep FBW Horizontal Milling and Boring Machine with Axially Traversing Headstock

FBW is a heavy duty floor type milling and boring machine that clamps the workpiece to a secured floor and moves the column at right angles to the spindle axis. This design is specifically created to handle unusual operations for heavy, large, and awkward parts, which cannot be frequently reclamped and realigned due to their size, weight, and required accuracies. The headstock has a long extension traverse that compensates for the gravity induced sag in each position, even with the heaviest milling and boring heads mounted on the front face. This machine allows for large depths of cut during roughing, even in extremely challenging cutting point access conditions, while also ensuring high accuracy in finishing operations. The shortest possible idle times are achievable through high rapid traverse rates and optimum acceleration. The utilization of semi automatic clamping for tools and auxiliary equipment saves further time. Rotary and traversing worktables are available for the largest workpiece sizes and weights, and these tables can increase the machine's economy. This floor type milling and boring machine has a traversing headstock that can extend up to 4,400 mm, a boring spindle diameter of up to 320 mm, a milling spindle diameter of up to 460 mm, a main drive rating of 200 kW, a vertical traverse of up to 10 m, and optional horizontal traverse. Please describe your range of workpieces so that we can provide details of the most suitable machine size.
