Schiess Moweg DKE Single column vertical boring mills

Schiess DKE Single column vertical boring mills

Field proven design The established, rugged DKE type single column vertical boring mills continue to cover a wide field of applications and provide specific solutions to individual machining requirements. An electro hydraulic clamping mechanism ensures positive and rigid location of the cross rail on the column. Operation of the machine is from a central control pendant, which also incorporates a fault indication as a standard feature. The tool slide on the cross rail head swivels 45 degrees each side of vertical. The square turret is provided with hardened and ground face gearing to ensure positive and accurate indexing. Indexing is remotely controlled from the pendant. The machines feature a DC main drive system, allowing infinitely variable table speeds as standard. The rigid table base column cross rail construction and the precision table bearing system, pre loaded to a defined value, enable the workpieces to be machined within closest tolerances. Bearing system and final drive gear form a one piece unit. The table is made of nodular cast iron with four built in jaw slides. The slide ways on the cross rail, which sustain the cutting forces, are lined with steel bands to eliminate any wear and ensuring permanent precision.
