Skoda SR1600 Centre lathe

The following is a technical specification of a Skoda center lathe model 5R 1600, 2000. The maximum distance between centers is from 4,000 to 12,000 mm (157 to 471 inches), and the maximum weight of the workpiece is between 28,000 and 110,000 kg (61,500 to 242,500 pounds). The maximum torque on the face plate ranges from 7,000 to 9,000 kpm (50,500 to 65,000 pound-feet), and the diameter of the face plate ranges from 1,540 to 1,920 mm (60 to 76 inches). The spindle nose taper hole is 1:10 and ranges from 100 to 120 mm. The spindle speed has 24 steps and ranges from 355 to 280 rpm. The longitudinal feed has 18 rates and ranges from 1 to 6 mm per rpm and 1 to 48 mm per rpm for 12 lower speed steps. The cross feeds and feeds of cross slide have the rate of longitudinal feeds. The quick traverse is 3,400 to 134 mm per minute. The machine is designed for turning large and heavy workpieces with cutting tools with sintered carbide tips and high-speed steel tools. The main spindle with the processed-on face plate is mounted in anti-friction bearings and driven by an electric motor through a multi-speed gearbox. The saddle is equipped with a transmission mechanism for changing the feed rate and direction of the tool motion. The top slide has a power feed, and threads of conventional pitches can be cut on the whole length of turning. The tailstock has a power feed along the bed, and the tailstock quill has both power and hand feed. The machine has three guideways, which enable the travel of the saddle along the whole length of the bed and also along the tailstock and workpiece roller supports. A machine with considerable distance between centers can be equipped with an additional complete saddle. As an optional attachment, a thread cutting equipment for cutting of threads in limited length can be supplied.
