SMV Industries has its origin in the industrial area of southern Sweden. The first machines were built in the early 1920s and were the foundation of SMV's reputation as a producer of high-quality and reliable machines. Through cooperation with Aros Verken AB, Hjo Mekaniska Verkstad, and Nibbler Fabriks, SMV continued its expansion. Today, it is the leading company producing this type of machine range in northern Europe. The main products for the SMV group are mechanical power presses and coil handling equipment. As a result, they can custom make complete production lines from their own machines. SMV has a policy of continuous product development throughout the whole of the SMV group. Their recently developed FMS press is one example of this development. This new press concept contains a totally automated and integrated press feeder unit, which has resulted in a productivity increase of 100% for their customers. They have a wide range of machines, auxiliaries, and services. In addition to their mechanical power presses, feeders, straighteners, and decoilers, they can offer their customers press brakes, power shears, and punch-nibbler machines. A vital part of SMV Industries is to offer their customers a high standard of service for all their machines, carried out by skilled, factory-trained engineers.

SMV Industries mainly sells its products and services through its own sales companies in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and England and through agencies in the rest of the world.
