Sony LH 20 Magnescale Display Unit  Expansion Unit

The LH2O and LU10A are Sony's 2nd-generation Magnescale display units, featuring 0.5μm resolution, an easily expandable modular design, and an easy-to-operate joystick. They offer excellent operability, flexibility, and cost efficiency. The LH2O is suitable for multiple functions, while the LU10A is ideal for basic operations. The LE20 Expansion Unit is also available for special functions. These display units provide high precision and high efficiency.

The LH2O is equipped with a new touch sensor function and wireless remote control capability, and the LU10A has a basic function display, additional function indicators, and mode select/cancel keys. Both units have a power switch, rear panel, head amplifier receptacle, touch sensor connector, and BCD, RS-232C, and GP-1B connectors.

The LH2O has a touch-sensor function that enables automatic compensation of the sensor radius, and it also allows for instant operations from a distance with a wireless remote control unit. The resolution can be selected from 1, 5, and 10μm with the corresponding diameter display. The display units are also equipped with absolute and offset zero point detecting functions, datum point memory function, and absolute/incremental display switching function.

The LH2O can be remotely controlled with keyboard operations using the LZ30 wireless remote control unit. Up to four axes and four LH2O units can be controlled with a single remote control unit, and the operable distance is up to 5 meters.

Power failure can occur when the distance between the zero point and the datum point is saved. The offset zero point detection function is a convenient feature that displays a specific value when the absolute zero point is detected. This function is useful when using a specific point on a machine as the datum point or machine zero point. The absolute zero point detection function has a resolution of 5μm or 10μm, or their corresponding diameter display. The offset can be called anytime when the distance from the absolute point to the datum point is memorized.

For complex working sheets, it is necessary to repeatedly call the distance from the reference point absolute value and then resume the distance between the points to be machined incrementally for positioning. The display can be easily switched between these two values, allowing for easy and precise positioning as specified on the sheet with higher efficiency.

The datum point memory and ABs/1NC display switching functions permit easy switching between displayed values, and memorizing a displayed value when needed. Other functions include the recall function, which recalls memorized data and is convenient for repeated machining. The display has a white background that is easy to read for extended periods, and the power-off backup data maintains the displayed value and preset data until updated.

The LH2O and LU10A models are equipped with different functions such as the Reset, Preset, Memo function, and Recall function. The LH2O has a storage of the displayed value at power-off and memorized values and preset data, while the LU10A has a backup of displayed values at power-off and preset data. The maximum response speed is different for both models. The LH2O model's maximum response speed is more than 60m/min, while the LU10A model's maximum response speed is more than 6om/s.

Similar to the comparator mode, the range in which the current position is located is shown, and the moving direction can be displayed. At the same time, the item with measuring data and range data can be output to an external device.

Analog display: Display Dot matrix 5x7 fluorescent display tube. In the positioning mode, the digital display and analog display can be switched alternatively with the joystick. The analog display shows where the current position is located in a range. In the comparator or positioning mode, up to four reference points can be set. Note: The analog display cannot be obtained when only one reference point is selected.

1. Setting by the joystick.
2. Loading of data displayed on the connected display unit with the joystick.

1. TTL open collector or relay output of the torque display.
2. BCD output/output of BCD data of the connected display unit.

Data storage: Maintains the current mode and the set data at power-off.

The max./min. display mode is to be selected in the initial setting. BCD data supplied from the LH2O display unit is output from the BCD output terminal. The maximum and minimum values in the measuring range can be displayed and maintained without any processing. The load capacity of the LE20 is only a pull-up resistor and 74HC373.
