F-MT MULTITASKING MILLING-TURNING MACHINE

The F-MT multitasking milling-turning machine from SORALUCE is a dynamic and versatile solution that integrates several processes in one machine. This machine combines traditional milling machine operations with turning capabilities for heavy-duty components. This provides the possibility of manufacturing complex components in a single setup. These multi-task machines can complete all operations in a single setup, including turning, milling, boring, drilling, and tapping, making them suitable for unitary and serial production.

BACKGROUND CONCEPTS The F-MT machine is designed for high dynamics and long-lasting high precision. The machine provides high dynamics of 45m/min for the X-axis and 35m/min for the Y and Z axes. The rigid and stable design provides the highest precision, with an acceleration of 2 m/s2 in each individual axis. The machine's main elements are made from cast iron (GG30), combined with the high power and torque of the main spindle and improved thrust forces in all axes up to 16 kN, resulting in a state-of-the-art solution for high chip removal capacity and stable conditions for both milling and turning.

The F-MT machine offers high performance, precision, and efficiency. A high torque direct drive spindle motor provides low heat, reduced noise, and no maintenance. The environmental management system has produced an overall environmental impact reduction of more than 12%, consisting of less consumption during manufacturing, less electricity consumption during use, and less lubricant during use.

CONSTRUCTION CHARACTERISTICS The F-MT machine features a linear guiding system with recirculating cylindrical rollers on each axis X-Y-Z, guaranteeing immense stability and high precision. This system ensures high dynamics, minimum maintenance, and low heating levels. The longitudinal axis is driven by two servomotors, two gearboxes, and a double rack and pinion. The vertical and cross axes are driven by preloaded ball screws with double recirculating nuts. Its heavy-duty design and high dynamics provide the optimum in power and cutting speed capability.

MACHINE STRUCTURE The F-MT machine is based on the successful SORALUCE FL model, integrating a flexible working area that can be configured to the customer's needs with one or multiple working stations with fixed tables and rotary tables usable for both milling and turning operations. The machine table is prepared for the integration of a turning table, so both turning table and machine table surfaces are at the same height, providing a highly versatile and ergonomic working area.

TURNING CAPABILITIES For performing turning behavior, the machine is equipped with a specific turning attachment connected to the head by means of an adapter flange. The turning attachment is locked to the head by means of a Hirth coupling. Capto C8 equipped tools are used for the turning operations, with both manual and automatic tool change versions available for the turning tools.
