Studer S Radius internal cylindrical grinding machine

STUDER 3 is a product range of internal cylindrical grinding machines. These machines have an automatic B-axis which allows for flexible machining of chucking components in internal grinding, surface grinding, external grinding, and radius grinding. The set-up time is reduced significantly thanks to offline simulation programming and a sophisticated set-up philosophy. The range includes three models: S121, S131, and S141, with a swing diameter of 300 mm, a maximum length of parts including clamping devices of 300 mm for S121 and S131, and 400 mm for S141. The grinding length for all models is 165/250 mm, and the maximum external grinding length and diameter vary between models. The maximum number of spindles on the turret also varies between models, with S121 having two spindles and S131 and S141 having four. The HF spindle diameter is 100/120 mm for all models, and the external grinding wheel diameter is 250/50 x 25 mm. The X-axis travel varies between models, with S121 and S131 having a travel of 350 mm and S141 having a travel of 500 mm. The Z-axis travel is 400 mm for all models. The B-axis swiveling range varies between models, with S121 having a range of -20 to deg, S131 having a range of -60 to deg, and S141 having a range of 60 to deg. The load on the spindle nose is 300 Nm for all models, and the machine weight varies between models, with S121 weighing 5050 kg, S131 weighing 5700 kg, and S141 weighing 7400 kg.
