The material structure developed by STUDER, produced in their own plant using modern industrial techniques, is used to create the excellent damping properties of the machine base, ensuring outstanding surface quality of the ground workpieces. Temperature fluctuations are extensively compensated for by the favorable thermal behavior of Granitan. The V and flat guideways for the longitudinal and cross slides are molded directly into the machine base and are provided with a non-abrasive Granitan slideway coating.
