Sunnen SH 2000 honing machine

Sunnen SH-2000 honing machine is a high-performance machine that is easy to set up and operate. It is designed for superior high-production bore sizing and finishing, and it can be operated by inexperienced operators. It is a faster alternative to grinding and other honing processes and can handle hard materials efficiently. The machine is equipped with universal honing fixtures that handle nine out of ten jobs without requiring special tooling. The 5H-2000 is up to six times faster than grinding and other honing processes and produces better bore geometry, oil-bearing crosshatch finish, and longer tool life. Sunnen's technical specialists work with customers to determine the best solution for their needs. Applications include multiple land and tandem bores, heavy or odd-shaped parts, keyways or splines, blind end bores, and thin-walled parts. The machine is extremely versatile and can handle workpieces of almost any size or configuration. Sunnen Power Stroking provides constant stroke length and stroke rates, and the zero shutoff ensures better control of bore size, finish, and geometry. Sunnen's long stone bridges the lands and keeps them all in line, and specially designed stones and mandrels make honing keyways and blind end holes easy. The machine can hold tight tolerances without chucks or clamps to distort or break delicate pieces. The optional safety system includes a front light curtain, side guards, and safety PLC. The machine is equipped with a new Siemens PLC Control with a touchscreen that replaces circuit board technology.
