The headstock also includes a double electromagnetic clutch and a 16:1 protractor. NORTON BOX includes Cr-Ni steel gears that are hardened and splined shafts mounted on high-quality ball bearings. There is an easy selection of metric pitches, Whitworth, module pitches, and diametral pitch without changing the standard gears. APRON features induction-hardened gearwheels made of Cr-Ni steel. Feeds and related reverses are operated by electromagnetic clutches. MAIN SLIDE includes wide guideways covered with excellent anti-friction material TORC1TE, providing excellent stress stability, with the take-up of slack through taper guides. COMPOUND REST includes induction-hardened guideways. LUBRICATION
