Taurus TRD TCD Heavy duty gap lathes

Taurus TRD and Taurus TCD are heavy duty gap lathes designed for various machining applications across different industries. These lathes have a rigid design to support the carriage, ensuring years of accuracy and trouble-free performance. The Taurus TCD 150 has a spindle bore of 510 mm, while the Taurus TRD 130 features an additional lower, hardened and ground third axis. Both lathes offer rapid cross and longitudinal feeds, high maximum load capacity between centers, a massive tailstock with retract device, and a removable gap. The bed is made from high tensile Meehanite cast iron, with hardened and precision-ground guideways bed and carriage coated with Turcite B. The powerful spindle motor provides heavy cutting with high torque output, and the guideways bed and carriage are hardened 55-60 HRC. The lathes come with an independent coolant system for spindle stock and are user-friendly for easy operations.

Technical specifications for Taurus machines include the swing over the bed, cross-slide, and gap, distance between centers, spindle bore, spindle speeds, main spindle motor, thread feeds, support, quill diameter, bed height and width, travel of top slide, net weight, machine weight, and more.

Taurus heavy duty gap lathes are built for maximum stability and performance, with high precision machining capability and easy operation. They are ideal for heavy parts turning in various industries, including machine parts, mining, steel refining, power plants, paper making, shipbuilding, textiles, and general industrial machinery. These lathes are ruggedly built and designed to provide maximum stability, ensuring reliable performance year after year. Please note that specifications are subject to change without notice for improvement.
