Tos UBB 50 CNC Cylinderical grinder machine

TOS UBB 50 is a cylindrical grinder for workpieces with a diameter of 500 mm and a maximum length of 3,000 mm. It can be controlled manually or fully automatically with plunge or longitudinal grinding, grinding convex or concave, and with an additional B-axis. The workpieces can be mounted between the centres or clamped on one side in the chuck or permanent magnetic plate. The B-axis enables the use of up to three grinding wheels, which makes it possible to grind a workpiece completely while clamping it only once. The grinder can be modified for using controlled gauges, enabling the control of multiple machines.

The machine has various arrangements for grinding spindles on the wheel-head, including one, two, or three grinding spindles, both internal and external. The B-axis is the most important part of the machine for complete workpiece grinding. The mounting of the external grinding spindles in the unit is done with high-precision rolling bearings. The drive of the internal grinding spindles is ensured by asynchronous electric motors with a frequency converter.

The basic arrangement of the revolving wheel-head is Alternative S1, which has a grinding wheel for external grinding on the left. The grinding wheels for external grinding may be fitted with an automatic balancing device and acoustic detection of contact between the grinding wheel and the workpiece. The wheel-head tilt range is 30 degrees in the positive counter-clockwise direction, and the maximum B-axis torque is 1,500. The UBB 50 CNC range of machines is designed for accurate and efficient grinding of individual pieces, as well as for grinding in serial production.
