The machine center that turns with stationary part.
The machining center combines the advantages offered by stationary-part machining with those of rotating-part machining. The spindle head incorporates 2 spindles: a standard milling spindle for drilling, tapping, and milling applications and a U-axis turning head. The radial-movement U-axis turning head is able to perform virtually any type of turning jobs spherical or tapered turning, as well as boring and threading, making use of standard tools. The turning operations can be done with all the features of standard lathe turning, including constant surface speed control. This ruggedly constructed machine features an excellent chip disposal system. All internal components of the spindle head are constantly lubricated with a progressive lubrication system. The base frame is a stabilized steel weldment. The head, column, and saddle are made of meehanite cast iron. All axes slide on cross-roller linear bearings and are driven by ball screws with pre-loaded, double lead screw and servo motors. This machining center is equipped with pallets. Mounted and clamped to a fully programmable continuous rotary table, with servo motor drive, and a high precision angle encoder. The tools are mounted on a tool holder base type designed and patented by trevisan machine utensil. This tool holder provides maximum rigidity, since the tool clamps on a wide support surface during work, which allows heavy metal removal operations while ensuring maximum tool stability.
