This is a description of a CNC milling machine known as Ram-Cut 2. The design of the cross rail assures constructive rigidity and stiffness. The Ram allows for applications with fixed milling spindle of Ø 130mm, boring spindle of Ø 120mm, travel of 24,600mm, and up to 5,000rpm. Another option is to work with motor spindle directly at the end of the Ram, as well as CNC and manual, universal and angular, contouring and indexing milling heads.

Axes identification is possible with this machine. Ram-Cut is a portal CNC milling and boring machine with a gantry. There are three versions of Ram-Cut, Ram-Cut 1, Ram-Cut 2, and Ram-Cut 3. The spindle diameter for Ram-Cut 1, Ram-Cut 2, and Ram-Cut 3 is 130mm.

The tool holder is according to D1N 69871 ISO 50. The main power supply is 50HP or 37kW, with an AC spindle drive motor. For 40% duty cycle, the main power supply is 75HP or 56kW, with an AC spindle drive motor. The spindle speed range is 5-3000rpm. The travel X-axis is 3000mm for Ram-Cut 1, 4000mm for Ram-Cut 2, and 6000mm for Ram-Cut 3.

The Y-axis course is 118mm for Ram-Cut 1, 3000mm for Ram-Cut 2, and 3500mm for Ram-Cut 3. The Z-axis course is 1200mm for Ram-Cut 2 and Ram-Cut 3. The distance between columns is 2800mm for Ram-Cut 2 and 3400mm for Ram-Cut 3. The minimum distance of the spindle to the table top is 250mm for Ram-Cut 2 and Ram-Cut 3, and the maximum distance is 1450mm for Ram-Cut 2 and Ram-Cut 3.

The feed range for X, Y, Z is 1-10000 mm/min. The rapid traverse for X, Y, Z is 20 m/min for Ram-Cut 1 and Ram-Cut 2, and 15 m/min for Ram-Cut 3. The feed power for X, Y, Z is 15,000N for Ram-Cut 1, 25,000N for Ram-Cut 2, and 33,000N for Ram-Cut 3. The table surface dimensions are 185 x 4700 x 20mm for Ram-Cut 1, 130 x 3300 x 1250mm for Ram-Cut 2, and 248 x 6300 x 2500mm for Ram-Cut 3. The maximum table load is 10,000kg for Ram-Cut 1, 15,000kg for Ram-Cut 2, and 25,000kg for Ram-Cut 3. The T-slot D1N 650 dimensions are H12 22 for Ram-Cut 1 and Ram-Cut 2, and H12 28 for Ram-Cut 3. The center reference slot dimensions are H7 22 for Ram-Cut 1 and Ram-Cut 2, and H7 28 for Ram-Cut 3. The number of slots is five for Ram-Cut 1 and Ram-Cut 2, and eight for Ram-Cut 3.
